No original idea, many are just copying other niche services. Guys if you copy others, choose biggest players instead of smaller niche players.

This would be ok list for some mid-size EU country, but as europeanwide contest it feels abit like embarrasement. Whose fault is this? I think both side failed. People involved in selection of projects haven't tried hard enough. And participants, well, majority are simply not good or creative enough to compete in a new worldwide economy. US competition can relax, no real competition from the the EU (yet). As an European I feel sad for this fact and I hope it will improve with time. But time is running fast on Internet and all slots may be occupied pretty soon.

If I were VC my decision would be easy: thank you and see you next year, when you come with better idea.

Pls no hard feelings, I speak for wishing to improve EU chances in this New economy. Nothing less

Re: Seedcamp 2009

no hard feelings but I really don't see much of talented business ideas from EU generally and especially not from Eastern EU. Do not create hype out of thin air because all this may end up like last Dot.com crash. It is easy to find similar mistakes done as those that were commited during 2000's crash period. This time consequences may be even harsher. So please be calm and realistic, which means do not make hype out of nothing. Thank you

Re: seedcamp: Seedcamp Week 2009 Day 2 Highlights

Pls don't get me wrong but 90% of those ideas are, errr.., useless. Obviously EU still lags behind USA significantly (even fundamentally). Everyone is so high, socializing, having cocktails, 'we are all nice' attitude. Bu guys, where is business?

All strive for PR, grab VC attention, how to raise money... But it is a completely wrong way, similar to 'take money and run' attitude. Build better mousetrap and world (and VC-s) will come to you. Not vice-versa.

No wonder EU VC-s are hesitant to spend money on those countless wannabees. So far there was no viable success from EU (except one large that investor wants to get rid of, for quite understandable reason). We have had enough of one Dot.com crash during 2000-s, filled with unreasonable plans and 'take money while you can' attitude. We wouldn't survive another one.
