IE6 is a lot more of a bitch though. However I think by now it's acceptable to treat IE6 as a 'C grade browser' and present visitors using IE6 with a trimmed down experience and a friendly note that they may want to upgrade to a newer browser in order to get the full experience.

Re: http://christinahaberkern.tumblr.com/post/106487183

Damn... a little more than three years left for me and I'll be 'ejaculating powder'... at least according to this anonymous expert :(

Re: What is the problem with Tumblarity?

I honestly don't think it will happen. The reason is that Tumblr is a social thing. It will be blatantly obvious when someone is doing things just for the sake of being 'popular' which will result in that someone getting unfollowed, achieving the exact opposite.

Thing is, Tumblarity has always been there. There has always been a ranked list! It's just that Tumblr has now decided to actually show bits of that list. The fact that this all of a sudden makes people throw a fit is beyond me. "Move along, nothing to see here!" is how I feel about it.

I'd love to see the Tumblr top 100 which is the only thing we can't see at the moment...

Re: http://christinahaberkern.tumblr.com/post/104706637

Damn you're popular! In fact they seem to be going for it already, even before the new CEO. You can do amazing stuff with Profile 2.0. You can make profiles look perfect now, very much unlike the way it used to be. Take a look at my profile and another one I created and I'm pretty sure a lot of people will be surprised and think: "WTF?! is this MySpace?".

The MySpace Local service they recently launched looks promising as well. Overall the whole site is way faster than it used to be and the interface has improved a whole lot. I believe it can still be improved enormously but they're definitely on the right track in my opinion.

And people, don't forget: MySpace is MAKING MONEY. Very much unlike Facebook.

I can't wait to see what the new CEO is gonna do. Hopefully kick Facebook's ass because I'm beyond bored AND annoyed with Facebook.

Re: http://christinahaberkern.tumblr.com/post/99774762

This deal is not spectacular in any way so I wouldn't...

Re: http://christinahaberkern.tumblr.com/post/99393434

I guess if you don't mind some weirdo jacking off while looking at your feet, say yes ;)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

Re: Is Tweetie For Mac Right For You?

Except for those who paid for Twitterrific? :P

Besides, you don't have to pay for either one of them if you don't mind the occasional ad shown in the stream.

Re: The Fastest Growing Social Sites

The only reason Facebook is so big seems to be that people sign up because they feel 'they HAVE to' because all of their friends are on it. It now allows great customization very similar to virb.com and tumblr.com. I built two profiles in the past week and I found it easy to make things look very nice.

What WOULD be nice however is an option like Virb has (or used to have, not sure if they kept it in 2.0) to 'remove customization'. This option shows the profile 'facebook style'. Nice, minimalist and clean. This feature would make both customization freaks (the pretty kind and the ugly kind alike) and 'facebook style'-fans perfectly happy.

I really do think customization is a nice feature for a social network because it allows people to actually express themselves and have an online identity rather than being a grey mouses like on Facebook.

Re: Opinionated - The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most...

I'll surely check it out. However, I've had a Christian upbringing and have therefore read the bible. And... I have to agree with Dawkins that god really isn't a very pleasant character in the old testament.

I for one can't believe that if it turns out I'm wrong by being a 'non believer' that god is such a creep. It makes no sense or whatsoever. It's like a sadist toddler playing with a bowl full of insects really.

Re: Opinionated - The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most...

Even though Dawkins is an atheist, this isn't about whether god exists or not.
