MPEG2 is supported on Roku now. I watch recordings from my HDHomerun via Plex with no transcoding necessary. Not sure when this changed though.

Not an actual replacement for the plugins I use that you're taking away. Have used Plex for over three years and even got my mother a lifetime subscription as she enjoyed it so much. Sad to see you continue to take away features that people actually use. I used to recommend Plex without any hesitation but now I'll have to think twice.

I would use it with my phone or with my Intel NUC to free up the HDMI so I can add a second monitor.

Every year the price of Google's phones feel like they keep going up yet they can't add back in things like wireless charging? My Nexus 4 from 2012 had it and so did the rest of the Nexus line until the N6P and N5X. They used to be ahead of the curve but now they're having to play catch up to companies like Apple who FINALLY introduced wireless charging. It's absurd.

Are apps like this okay for phones like the N6 which has an AMOLED screen? I used CF.Lumen on my N4 all the time with no issue but read conflicting reports about the effect apps like these have on AMOLED.

This. Lack of wireless charging in addition to the reduced price is what made me choose a Nexus 6 over the 6P a few months ago. That and I didn't want to be an early adopter of USB-C.

Trusted Places worked great for me until about a month or so ago. Pretty sure they shrunk the radius it uses to detect your location as my Home location stopped working. Narrowed it down to the GPS thinking I was next door. Added that address and it's worked fine since.

If this is the same as the Showtime app, it's worthless for Comcast customers. Comcast won't allow their customers access to HBO GO and Showtime on Roku so assuming HBO GO won't work on Amazon as well. The odd thing is that Comcast lets all those apps work with Chromecast.

If you see a refurbished one for a good price, just know that they are often still eligible for the offer. My Mom got one of the C720's through Groupon a few months back and it was eligible. I got a different refurbished C720 from Amazon and it worked, too.

Thanks for the heads up! I also have a C720 and redeemed the 100GB offer a few months ago. Just now checked and was also eligible for the free TB. Looks like it stacked with the previous offer as now I have 1.12TB of storage in Drive. All in all, pretty sweet! Glad to see Google taking care of previous buyers instead of just focusing on new customers.
