You certainly worked hard for your law degree: Driving from Springfield IL to SLU is over 100 miles each way. Working a full time job on top of it, doing the studies (3 hrs for every class hour), combined with the the drive time must have left you about negative 45 minutes of sleep per day during a 7 day week. I have no doubt that you worked hard for everything you've got & you certainly must have made the Colonel beaming proud. Your work ethic is second to none: you have my respect--Kudos Abdul.

Democrats like democracy. MAGA Republicans have at CPAC have said "Welcome to the end of Democracy. We are here to overthrow it completely." (For those who didn't get that on Jan 6, 2021). And they consider themselves patriots.
The sad part is the most corrupt president & administration (not an opinion, but a verifiable fact) may well get another turn at power in order to finish off the U.S.A. China, Putin, & Iran just love this. This is your party Abdul, although they consider you a RINO.

I cannot see how you could lose this case. You ought to try for money damages as well: 1) intentional infliction of emotional distress brought on by 2) tortious damage to professional reputation, & 3) loss of income due to count 3. I would testify that I would have hired you "But For" your sullied reputation by Mr. Rokita as a promoter of disinformation. The promotion of disinformation is something I cannot abide in anyone who mows my lawn.

I mostly agree however, when someone believes Joe Biden won because of a rigged election, that the Jan. 6 insurrection was no big deal, that “Intelligent Design” is rational, etc., it's kind of hard to take such fact-free views seriously. Sometimes there simply aren't 2 (reasonable) sides to an issue.

When someone refuses to believe in established reality, then what? Often, I cannot help but view an opposing view holder as stupid. Not simply ignorant, which is curable by education, but flat-out stupid as refusing to believe in reality is being willfully ignorant. Willful ignorance is intentional stupidity. Is the inability to respect idiotic views somehow a failing rather than a logical reaction?

I could abide charter schools, if they had to adhere to the same standards of public schools. Under the federal IDEA, public schools have to provide an education to learning disabled students, "mainstreaming" them into traditional classrooms (exceptions are made for the severely disabled). Charter schools don't have to do this. They don't have to take any & all students as public schools do.

This not only gives charter schools an advantage on student achievement scores, but they also do not have to spend money for SPED teachers. With fewer students, a public school will get fewer dollars, yet have to spend more on student services than a charter school, further disadvantaging the state run school.

Charter schools have been operating in St Louis for over 30 years. The verdict: a wash, they succeed & fail at the same rate as public schools, only when charter schools fail they close down.

Slavery was written into our constitution. De jure segregation in schools & public areas, systemic disenfranchisement of black citizens, racially restrictive covenants (enforced by courts) along with public policy on the federal, state, & local levels limiting where black people could live, limited job opportunities, the purposeful exclusion of blacks from Social Security & other public welfare benefits, etc., etc. That's not systemic racism? I'm gonna hafta disagree with you on this one Uncle Ruckus because, reality.

I mostly agree with those ideas. However, I cannot disagree more with your idea "Tougher Penalties for Crimes Committed in Certain Areas." Wow. Have you given it much thought, or was it something off the top of your head? That one will certainly get support from every Klansman, Neo-Nazi, & white supremacist.

You are proposing an idea very similar to the 500 to 1 (crack to powder cocaine) law which disproportionately punished black people. A crime is a crime, no matter where it happens.

The problem many black people have is that many unarmed black males keep dying at the hands of police with little to no repercussions. And for every person who dies this way, dozens more are beaten, mistreated, disrespected, etc. at the hands of overly zealous police officers. Certainly, it is a minority of L.E.O.s committing these offenses, just as it is a minority of protesters who loot, riot, & destroy property.

Mistreating black folk has been a national tradition for L.E.O.s which, even though now being proven through video recordings, hasn't abated much: it just keeps happening & too often those responsible aren't brought to justice. Many believe the legal system is failing the black community. MLK, jr. said "Rioting is the language of the unheard."

In no way does this excuse looting & the destruction of property, but it does explain it. Cracking down on the rioters will not solve the problem, but rather will exacerbate it the next time another unarmed black person is unjustly killed at the hands of the police.

A simple solution to this matter is for L.E.O.s to stop unnecessarily killing unarmed black people.

You seem to believe that everyone is born with equal intelligence, talents & physical abilities, so the only reason someone doesn't succeed is because they're lazy. Especially since job opportunities (& public transportation) are equally available everywhere. And Republicans wonder why they're considered the "mean" party.
With a living wage there would be far fewer people needing social welfare programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, heating assistance, et al. which conservatives dislike. Here's a chance to reduce the costs of those programs & help lessen the burden on taxpayers so one would think Republicans would be all in favor of this, but they're not. It kinda looks like the GOP wants to keep poor folk poor.
Letting peonage workers not pay the payroll tax will only make the SS, Medicare, Unemployment & Worker's Comp systems become less solvent. Your "solution" is not a solution.
While it's true most workers don't earn the minimum wage, what about those earning just a dollar or 3 above it? Less than 40% of workers make under $15/hr. It's not just minimum wage workers who are struggling

Oddly, you do not report what teachers in IN actually earn (not starting, maximum, mean, median, nor mode.) One would think that teacher's pay would be an important fact and would appear in the second paragraph of an article about teacher pay.

What's up with that "minor oversight?" Didn't you major in journalism in college? And while you're hiding information about teacher's salaries, remember not to include their retirement pay & who funds it. Why cloud the issue with facts?

Five thirty eight has the race as Lean Dem with Donnelly up by 3.5. That's a 7.5 point difference between your numbers & theirs. It'll be interesting to see who gets this one right.
