In the middle of "leading," that is, making decisions that carry the group and the vision forward, everyone has an opinion! Advice comes easy to us. We can always get an idea about what "they" [read,"you"] should do. I hear this all the time: "Well, they should . . ." Now I reply, "WAIT A MINUTE -- 'THEY' IS YOU AND ME."

Well, that's it, you see. The voices multiply and advice comes so easily. I have experienced this phenomenonThe first few times this happened -- someone gets a good idea and says that "we" should do it. The first few times this happened I was sucked in and said, "Sure, that's a good idea. Let's do it." We start the project and I quickly find myself alone and those good idea folks off on something else.

Leadership is lonely. Joshua understood this. He discovered it in many lonely nights. When Moses would meet with God, Joshua, his aide, would hang around. Ex. 33:11 Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp, his assistant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent. He had alone time with God. And it seasoned him to God's presence and to the quiet voice which is so necessary for leadership. Leaders must be able to hear God speak!

Re: Authority from God

So really when God moves He first moves in a leader: calling, "anointing" or enablement to carry out the task, direction and the ability to gather others to the vision.

Re: I was bored today.

Some kind of mobile, lantern, something to hang

Re: Event Calendar

Does GCI have any events in May?

Re: Subscribing to GCI Online

Looking at the Church Security Conference scheduled for June 3-4 at Manna. This is needed for every church. It's not a day to be naive, or think that we're not targets. The leadership duty to protect is huge.
