Actually I think I remember reading somewhere that one reason there are so many different goddamn varieties of everything is to get the consumer's rational decision-making brain to shut down in self-defense so their primal lizard brain can go happily cruising around filling an entire cart with whiskey, Cheetos, and pudding, so, yeah, it sort of makes sense.

You should tell them about how the fishing minigame consists of rolling to see whether you catch a fish, win a random item, or horrify a female law enforcement official (who's not even *there*) and lose a worm (which you don't lose if you catch a fish, somehow.) As far as I know, you don't have to floss, or, at least, it's not a required part of your shower regimen. I agree that more actions should've been auto-assumed, though - the game knows you want to take the dog food before filling the bowl, so why doesn't it assume you want to put the bowl down? (I don't even pick up food bowls to fill them in real life; it's a matter of managing to tip the giant heavy bag of food just barely far enough for gravity to do its job without getting kibble all over the floor.)

But yeah, no, I agree it could've been less tedious; still, it did not make me want to stab a bitch nearly as much as the pig micromanagement in A Flustered Duck.
