Great information, these are the little things that can actually ruin your whole adventure and not appreciate your surroundings...BTW a sink? AND cold? I may be on a budget but I NEED my hot water and shower. I'll remember your advise. Thanks

I think #4 is a huge advise, we get to re-evaluate ourselves and think about the things that used to get us annoyed and stressed for nothing and the people we hurt in the past for no purpose. It's hard to learn this if you're in a 9-5 routine in a cubicle. Traveling is the best way to explore and experience other culture. Gives us an opportunity to reinvent and better ourselves as human beings

A comment on #4:
YES pay with cash as much as possible and ONLY take out cash from an ATM or inside a bank, never exchange or take out money from a money exchange vendor with your credit card. Most often, the minute you leave the area, they are using your card for their benefit. Although, you get your money back or you have credit security. Avoiding the hassle is always the best security.

Your insight on Nicaragua is very informative, thank you for shedding some light to this country. However, a true traveler must also do the research and have as much information as possible, comments like yours are extremely helpful because of your first hand experience. Can you also advise where not to go or where to go or where to go with a guide only? I know the country has a problem with cocaine smuggling but is that really something we should worry about? Can you compare Nicaragua with another Spanish country in reference to their culture? Thank you lyndseyb

Very well said, this article is very insightful. The reason why a lot of people don't travel is that the excuse of "I don't have vacation time" and/or "I don't have the money" comes into play, but for those that do have a little motivation, with some planning, all is possible.

Very well put, I hope everyone will understand your point of view. As everyone may well know, every relationship is different and has so many variables, we all try to be helpful to anyone experiencing this pain and be there th best we can. However, I hate cliche but "time will tell" or "time heals all wounds" is really the bottom line.
