Sampling isn't stealing. Sampled artists are credited for their contributions and receive royalties in most cases.

Plenty of rappers can also play instruments and/or sing. If rapping is so easy, then why doesn't everyone do it?

What does racism have to do with gangsta rap? And calling Obama racist is laughable. Most of his cabinet is white. He was raised by a white mother and white maternal grandparents.

Why did you put the word "president" in quotes? And what does this tell us about anything? Lil Wayne and Jay-Z are super-popular artists listened to by millions around the world. It's not like he's now been ushered into the Crips or Bloods because of this.

A dark fantasy? Wow. The guy who led this glorious rally called the first African-American a racist who hates white culture (even though he was, you know, raised by white people). The reason liberals focus on race is because it is still a problem in this country, as evidenced by the fact that there were two competing rallies in DC this weekend that had vastly different racial makeups. Why do you think the Tea Party has a hard time attracting African-Americans or Hispanics? Do you think it's because of their inclusive rhetoric? No. It's because the rhetoric is one of fear of a country sliding into the "wrong hands" and it has little to do with expansion of government and personal responsibility, as evidenced by Tea Party's support of corporatism (see stances on net neutrality and health care) and gross civil liberty violations (see stances on torture, immigration, and warrantless wiretapping, etc.).

Okay, so it wasn't a KKK rally. But it was lily white, and I bet if you sat a lot of those people down and talked to them, they would have significant problems with black people. I live in the South, man. I hear stuff nearly every day from conservatives that's pretty racially problematic. And the entire movement is predicated on "othering" the president (he's a secret Muslim!) and "restoring America/taking it back" (to what? the good ol' 50s?) and "America doesn't look/feel the same as what I'm used to..." To me, there is just a dark subtext of racial paranoia there, the same kind that sparked white flight (thus destabilizing our urban centers and causing ridiculous sprawl and traffic everywhere and probably more traffic injuries and death than crime ever caused...yay!). I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe that this movement gets going if a white dude is president. And calling lefties "hateful" and "afraid" when the Tea Party rhetoric is based on nothing but fear is pretty ludicrous.

Are you serious? Stalin purged his country of millions of dissenters and political enemies while Tea Party types in this country are free to roam around the Mall in DC voicing their dissent right near the home and HQ of the allegedly Stalinistic Obama. And multiple media outlets that are not run by the government cover this outpouring of dissent. It's just like the USSR and Stalin except it's not at all.

Talk to someone who lived in Soviet Russia (or under in East Germany) and then come back and try to make that comparison.
