The array of user interests is very broad. LOUD3R serves the enthusiasms of our users across lots of topics, many of which are poorly served online. We help users find great content, photos and videos from thousands of sources, and we filter, rank and serve the best content for the stuff they actually care about.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;"Loud3r lacks the fine-tuning and community of Techmeme and the search might of Google. So what does it have?"&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;LOUD3R is just getting started. The algorithm, feeds and glossary for each site/topic is fine-tuned by expert editors on the LOUD3R team. Sharing, commenting, and other community features are baked into the product, and that community plays an integral role in the ranking of stories, submission of stories and discovery of sources.  Techmeme is great, we're not out to replace them.  We offer a different slice of the web on our technology sites, and many other topics besides (like sneakers, cricket, and MMA) that no one else covers.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Google is not a competitor (nor do we want them to be).  But in-so-far as people use Google to bring them news about things they're interested in (via search, alerts, etc.,) lots of Google results are off-target. I'd like to help clarify a couple of points.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Adam, regarding the LOUD3R score If you click on the LOUD3R score you can see the breakdown of the three main components, Quality, Community and Buzz.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Quality component of the score looks at how "good" we believe the story is. There are a number of factors inluding; the site's reputation, the relevance of the text and the presence of media (photo or video).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Community component of the score looks at how users are interacting with the story. Are users sharing with friends? Are they clicking and commenting?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Buzz component of the score looks at the "hotness" of the story. How fresh is the content?
