Look at you, bro, casting doubt and fear side, going boldly where no religious man can dare go: The new frontiers of freedom in Christ are beckoning us beyond the safety of what we have known into the wild and vast expanse of 'Themselves and Their fullness' !! This is something only those willing to 'come away with Me my beloved' can comprehend. Here, here!... LOL

Re: Have You Made God Smile Yet Today?

Thanks a lot Jon Reid. Now I have BARRY MANILOW stuck in my head. "Can't smile without you..." I hope you're happy. LOL!

MAKE IT STOP!!! \

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: Have You Made God Smile Yet Today?

The God that is defined by religion and tradition is much like the short-fused, unpredictable father sometimes seen in humanity. Angry one moment and then gracious the next. You never know what you're gonna get. But this is not the God we have embraced in Christ Who reveals the Father.

I think I would want them to know that I made God smile before I ever existed. And so did they. And everyone else too. I don't think He ever stops smiling and delighting over us, even in our "worst condition". Instead, His anger is toward anything (including the traditions of men / religion) that would diminish the reality of our true identity and destiny - being ONE with Him. When he sees one of us He sees His beloved Son in Whom He is well pleased and smiling ear to ear no doubt.

Re: 26% “Not Christian”

His lovechild maybe... that would be controversial!

Re: Have You Made God Smile Yet Today?

ZZZZZZZap.....POOF

Re: Have You Made God Smile Yet Today?

Aye aye - don't get me started on church marquee signs. I drive by three on my way to work every day. I wonder if they have any clue how cliché, superficial, and even annoying these signs tend to be? I can't help but think of the phylacteries used by the Pharisees... weren't these little boxes containing scriptures worn on the OUTSIDE that made them think they were more holy?

OK - I got a little off subject... I wonder if God is frowning at me now?

LOL!

Re: 26% “Not Christian”

Should I identify myself as 'Christian'? What do you think, Jeromy?

Re: Weekend Movie: Sleep-Running Dog

Was probably dreaming the Doctrine Police were after him. How ironic that just as we were expecting a very important fax today the little guy generated an error code. When I followed up on it the manual specified it was an electrical short in the print cartridge which I was then able to resolve. I'm thinking it had been way overworked. Kinda makes me think of the All-In-One-Martha church being overtasked when the All-For-One-Mary church may look unproductive on the outside but... hmmm.. I'm getting carried away here aren't I - LOL.

Re: Statement of Faith

I concur!

Re: Help Me Out: Christians Should Not Judge, a Myth?

Yes - love should be the motivation in all things. I'm not sure I've yet seen anyone actually 'go to a brother that your brother might be reconciled' other than being reconciled to an external standard that fits one or another theology, doctrine, belief system. So many times Christ offered reconciliation in a relational way. Is that the goal here? Time after time Jesus related to messed up people without exploiting their sense of shame. Honestly, the times I've seen 'judgment' expressed (especially my own) it's usually to make myself or my beliefs look better, not the other person. I believe one definition of the word judgment in the OT was "to set things right". If that truly be the case then I hope judgment isn't a myth because that's what Christ has done - He has set things right, and 'tasked' us with that same purpose in the earth. Owe no man anything but to love one another... :-)
