I counting on the fact that current gen engines will have little problem running on the new generation of consoles because their architecture and overall hierarquy won't change.

Given that they could be able to support all the new platforms right off the bat.

Re: Persona 5 Is In Development, But Won’t Be Released For Quite Some Time

I'm waging that perhaps they should focus on coming out early on the next gen of consoles, seeing they're only beginning development now, no way they can match Persona 4's 18 month development time when they don't have a previous game using the engine up and running (and some assets to recycle)

Re: Persona 4: The Golden Was Originally Planned For PSP

Persona 3 deserved the same treatment (and perhaps a bundle for HD consoles, since were so collection merry go round now)

Re: Professor Layton and the Last Specter’s European Release Missing Bonus RPG Mode

Import it is.

Re: This Week In Imports: Monster Hunter 3. The fans didn't like the other character model so let's recycle the game and drop frank in? That's stupid, I think they should stand by what they created instead of caving in just because… and making it so that the current game is, well, turd?)

And then they cancel MML3.

That's two whole different spectrums if I ever saw them… And would anyone really complain about Capcom not releasing a Frank edition? we weren't even expecting it, unlike MML3.

Then, and this has to be mentioned, they're UTTER, UTTER… I mean, UTTER crap on their DLC strategy, I mean… Super Street Fighter 4, Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition, the Dead Rising example… They sell them as new games rather than releasing that content as DLC, but they release DLC that's already on the disk (RE5 mercenaries…)

It's just ridiculous.

Re: Nintendo President Explains The Cause For Nintendo 3DS Price Cut

The delays are no doubt accountable to the slow start of course, at least partially. No third party wants to send their titles to die out there or rush them to meet that end but at the same time they don't want the platform to be dominated by Nintendo (which is what Nintendo is trying to not do)

It's complicated, and a learning process for Nintendo.

As for Capcom, I can't possibly defend them, MML3 didn't seem like a expensive game to do, or high budget at that, I can't see why they couldn't swallow the bullet and give it a chance. They're pretty profitable and will always have other franchises/games to fall back on, I think every third party should channel some of their profits into what they consider "risky titles"

I mean:

-> http://www.vg247.com/2011/0...
(tl;dr version: Capcom sees fiscal year 2011 profit rise 156%)

For god's sake, there's no excuse for while earning more (156% more!), taking less risks. If they have a growth spur they ought to capitalize on it. But they're accountable for their own conservative'ness. (and we now know why Inafune left)
