Once we got a tax refund check in the mail for someone with our last name but totally different address. Instead of sending it back through the mail, we went to this person’s house to hand deliver it. It was an elderly person who was so thankful to get it and it looked like he really needed the money. If we had sent it back in the mail, who knows how long it would have taken for him to get this money!

Re: And Now for Something Completely Different Part 2

Congratulations and good luck on your future adventure! Hubby and I are going to northern Europe for the first time and I'm flying on an airplane for the first time in 15 years. I'm a little anxious and your comments reminded me that even though I'm excited and a little anxious, I need to enjoy the experience.

Re: They do believe you, and they are listening. #YouMatter

What a great story. It was more traumatic for me than her. LOL Now she is married with children but I still see her as my "baby." But our other "kids" still fill my heart with love. Many of mine have children who are now in high school. I'm so thankful that some students from 30 years ago still stay in touch with me and still share their successes with me. I have always told them that once I became their teacher, they became my "family!"

Re: More Homework

I enjoyed learning more about you! We were in FL a couple of weeks ago when that yucky bug hit us. My hubby spent the last 2 days of our trip in bed at the condo with a 103 fever. I came down with it as I drove home 2 days later but made it home at least. I'm finally getting over it! Hope you recover quickly.

Re: Where Mattering is on the Schedule!

I think this is a great idea! Everything you said is so true! My husband, who is my voice of reason, reminds me of this a lot. You see, as a judge, he actually heard both sides of the story in his courtroom. Just about every time the media reported about a case that heard, he always told me that there were 2 sides to the story and I was only hearing one side. In fact, he disregards a lot of what he hears in the media because he has seen first hand how it works. He has also had to bear the brunt of one sided stories when he heard cases but would not discuss it with the media. My thoughts and prayers are with your friend. Please let her know that there are some of us who know that all is not what it seems and that we don't take what we hear in the media to heart!

Re: The Shopping Trip

Great video. I have had this happen to me and not gotten any response from the person. I think that has decreased the occurrences.

Re: Free Technology for Teachers: Why I'm Sticking With a Hosted Blog

I agree with you! I haven't had a lot of trouble with Blogger over the past few years so a few inconveniences is worth the trouble. I'm comfortable staying with blogger because it is free and easy to use. I'm able to concentrate on my writing and sharing which is why I started to blog in the first place.

Re: Who's On Your Dream Team?

Thank you so much for constantly inspiring and motivating me. I love your blog and your thought provoking posts. I hope you don't mind that I borrow your posts as a spring board for many of my posts.
