Have you made any changes to isolate the IoT devices from each other? e.g. not allow your TV to talk to your Kindle. I know the Unifi guest network setup can do that.

This has always bothered me, but I usually just end up storing the parent in a local while looping when the situation comes up and move on. A fix like this would probably prevent lots of redundant queries running across many a Rails app.

gemedit is on github at http://github.com/lmarlow/g.... I'd love some patches for better version selection. I usually always use it to look at the latest gem version, so I haven't needed to scratch that itch yet. On the occasion that I needed to look at an older gem, the command completion worked fine for me.
