The last two games are the KENTRIDGE versus Kentwood girls at 7pm and then the KENTRIDGE versus Kentwood boys at 8:30 PM. Which would mean that the 10,000 dollar shot is scheduled for the halftime of the kr kw game

Re: VIEW LETTER: Teachers strike looms in Kent School District - Covington Reporter

Funny, i attend one of these kent schools, and i could write a LIST of teachers who don't care about their students. I have to sit in class and learn next to NOTHING, but you expect me to support her getting a raise? I've watched teachers get in people's faces and yell shut up. I've heard teachers talk badly about their students. I've seen teachers humiliate their students in front of a class. And i've also seen it all change when an administrater walks into the room. And who's protecting us against this? You want protection for your hours, and i want protection from terrible teachers who do NOTHING.

The really great part is the moment i talk to a counselor or an administrater about these teachers who make 60000 a year, which by the way is more than my mother makes (who is a dental assistant), they are skeptic. So how do i get protection when someone doesn't believe me? Why should i act like all teachers deserve raises and they all care about their students, when i have seen otherwise? And when the union makes it IMPOSSIBLE for a teacher to be fired, then it comes to a point where i no longer support teachers. Why should i, when i get taught by a crappy teacher?

Re: VIEW LETTER: Teachers strike looms in Kent School District - Covington Reporter

Fyi, you cant decrease class size in an economic recession, just the same as you can't expect a large raise. Because then you'd need more teachers who would expect the same raises. And in reality, students don't care about class sizes. We don't go into calculus and say "man i wish my class was smaller". Who cares? When you get to college, all the classes will be huge anyway.

And in case the KEA didn't realize, you all should be happy that you even hold a job at this point.

Re: VIEW LETTER: Teachers strike looms in Kent School District - Covington Reporter

If your a teacher and you want more money, go teach at a university if you're so "qualified". Teachers salaries have been disputed for years, yet these teachers still went ahead to become teachers. It's really no ones fault but your own. If you want money, go become an engineer or an architect.
