At the same time, I'm sorry you were unable to stay. I agree with the sentiment behind your statement that "Trump's NSC could benefit from a colored, female, hijab-wearing, American Muslim patriot." We should embrace our diversity, but I fear you would not have been safe in that house for too long. Everyday it seems a little more self-control is lost and a little more "politically incorectness" is normalized.

Re: Generalists Vs. Specialists In SEO: What’s The Best Approach?

I think the answer here is time. Just give it time. In the mid 1990s, I was a marketer and content producer who learned how to create websites. Once created, though, I had to tackle an immediate problem; "how do I get people to visit my shiny new site?" I learned all the technical tactics that helped do that and continued the best marketing practices I have always used. During that time I've worked as an SEO Analyst, then Specialist, then Strategist for both agencies and clients, learning something new everyday. So I've been firmly in both camps for more than 15 years. So are the other SEOs I have known and grown with. Does that make us general-specialists, or specialized-generalists, or just that group of old farts over there who really don't care what you call us anymore?

Re: Elevator Pitch for Bash Foo

In the US, "foo" -- especially when spoken -- will easily be misread as part of a phrase very popular with WWII vets. That was technically "fu" as in F*&^*'d up. I'm not sure what you're trying to say in your elevator speech, but am very sure it's not what you want to convey as your firm's strength.

Oh, and the whole phrase was FUBAR which was: F*&^*'d up beyond all recognition....definitely not a positive image, but one my dad applied liberally to government actions.
