I read his statement.
He threatens to bring the plane back if they are restricted. I can't help but think eventually that noisy plane and it's message will be associated together, annoyance and harrassment.
That is horrible because it will undermine the very important matter of abortion as you said.

I hope you and everyone else are able to focus and do well on your finals.

Re: CatholicVote.com

Thank you Miles

Hate crimes exist, and they exist to send a signal to a large community and create fear.

Re: CatholicVote.com

Linda

Perhaps people are discussing culpability after all. Does that appease you? People used to think the earth was flat, it was objectively round, but that was not knowledge that they had at that time.

If you are in doubt of being in mortal sin, then you are not in mortal sin.

Re: CatholicVote.com

then maybe it's your hypnosis name! Well, I've never really thought of it in those terms. But it makes sense. I think most of us are guided by our parish priests. Is that a safe statement to make? I mean, I don't hear too much from the Bishops in my area. And honestly, the only time I really look up what they have to say is during election times for example. Or maybe if something big is happening. Otherwise, I go to mass, I listen to the priests and I go about my life. Then I come here and so many people hear different things at mass or have different styles of priests. Some echo the more politically outspoken bishops like Chaput, and others (mine) stick to preaching the Gospel.

Did they really say not to read DaVinci code? I never did, because I heard what it was about, knew how it ended and felt like why bother. Plus I didn't like the crap Dan Brown was trying to present as history in terms of Jesus having a wife. I heard a great talk about that book and it put it in perspective for me. Now I might read it, cuz I've heard Dan Brown is a talented writer, I'll just know that half-way thru when Teabing (sp) talks, to just read it as FICTION. I want to read Angels and Demons. Have you read that?
I don't think it's bad to read books, as long as you understand what is fiction or someones opinion. That was a tangent. But yeah, I understand what you are saying.

Re: CatholicVote.com

MA
MAZT, is that your hip hop name? I love it!
I'm not sure what you and Cindy mean by the disconnect? And I'm too lazy to scroll to Cindy's post. Do you mean how people interpret teachings and then how priests and bishops can't always agree on those interpretations? And then how none of us can agree with each other and then we just pleater? Is that what you mean?

Re: CatholicVote.com

that's horrible MarkV. I have a problem with where and how they are presented. JPR talked about the holocaust, yes, absolutely, see it, but those images were not plastered on buses or bilboards. In books, in a school setting or learning institution. Fine. MA said she warns her students ahead of time if they are too sensitive to handle the pictures. She shows the images. We are not abortion deniers. Common sense. Common flipping sense.

And klaymans comment was disgusting. Save the unborn but traumatize a 1st grader? nice. See, this is why people tune those methods out as crazy.

Re: CatholicVote.com

I need the minutes from that meeting.

Re: CatholicVote.com

Yes, please God, help marcylee. amen.

Re: CatholicVote.com

marcylee

I'm so sorry. hugs.
