Actually I don't quite understand why some people try to revert the AppleTV into a regular computer (don't we have lots of those anyway?) instead of trying to make it a better media center...?! But maybe that's just me...

James: I didn't mean to debase your efforts though...! ;)

But I think as long as the USB port isn't fully supported too many apps just don't make sense on the ATV...just as you have experienced with the headset...!?

In case of having a better media center there's quite a few more options that would be nice, although it would be way cooler if Apple finally opened up instead of other people having to hack their way through...! Just wishful thinking though...

So, what's the status on this...?! Compiling a list is fine, of course -- but what now...?! It really kinda takes the fun out of using Disqus on a German blog, having taken the time to localize all those PHP files and all -- and then having comments system that's only in English...! :(

Yeah, I agree to having emoticons as an option -- especially since the Disqus plugin seems to de-activate all other comment-related plugins in Wordpress...!? So there goes my TinyMCE formatting, there go my emoticons... :(

Wir haben in unseren Blogs auch kürzlich auf Disqus umgestellt bzw. versuchen das gerade und an sich finde ich die Idee ganz gut, hoffe aber auf ein paar Verbesserungen seitens der Betreiber:

- deutsche (und andere) Lokalisierung
- die Verwendung von Emoticons in Kommentaren
- grundlegende Formatierungsoptionen (fett, kursiv, Link einfügen) in Kommentaren

Wer das (oder andere Dinge) ebenfalls gern hätte, sollte dies an entsprechender Stelle in den Foren (http://disqus.disqus.com/) kund tun, nur so wissen die Jungs auch, was gewünscht ist...! ;)

Actually I was more hoping to get support on the issue of formatting on here, since localization is being discussed (or rather disqussed ;) in other threads already -- but whatever...! :)

Actually it just shows how much people want localization, I guess...!? Still hoping for some feedback on the formatting though...

Additional info: Happens to me on several other blogs as well, but only with Safari...! Firefox seems to do okay...!? So is this just some Safari issue, has anybody else experienced this before...?!

Hmmh, hat sonst noch jemand das Problem, dass beim Aufrufen der User-Infos (die Maus über den Namen bewegen) alles unleserlich bzw. ohne Hintergrund dargestellt wird...?!? Beispiel:

Passiert aber scheinbar nur bei Safari, mit Firefox wird es normal angezeigt...!? :(

EDIT: Sorry, das war tatsächlich PithHelmet, das aus irgendeinem Grund das Laden des Backgrounds unterdrückt hat...!! Darauf muss man auch erstmal kommen... ;)))

It would really be great to have a few more options...

I have noticed that the comment field seems to accept HTML tags so that one actually can do some formatting...but it's not like every blog reader would know how that or is able to use HTML anyway...! But maybe for starters just a short info about the possibility to use HTML would be helpful...even though some WYSIWYG option (as in the TinyMCE Comments plugin) would be even cooler...

Anyway, looking forward to whatever happens next with Disqus...! :)

Okay, nehmt es mir bitte nicht übel -- aber das Argument "keine Zeit" kann ich nur bedingt nachvollziehen...

Wenn ich sehe, wieviel Zeit des 24-Stunden-Tages so mancher online anzutreffen ist, erst recht...!? ;)

Wenn mich ein Thema ausreichend interessiert, um es zu lesen, nehme ich mir die Zeit...und wenn ich dazu was beitragen möchte, eben auch...! Und es ist ja nicht so, als ob die paar Kommentare, die man so im Netz ablässt, epischen Umfang haben...!? ;)))

Aber es ist ja auch okay, niemand soll zu einer Diskussion oder einem Kommentar genötigt werden -- nicht, dass ihr mich da falsch versteht...!! Im Grunde hat das sicher auch mit dem zu tun, was halbtuerke geschrieben hat: Es kommt vielleicht auch auf's Thema selbst und den Beitrag an sich an...

Mir geht es eigentlich nur darum, dass Kommentare ja auch eine Art Bestätigung und Feedback darstellen, zumal man sich unabhängig von den Besucherzahlen eben oft fragt, für wen man schreibt und wie es draußen ankommt... :)

Maybe that's why an "external" plugin would be better then...?! Anyway, I guess you're just expecting everyone to be a CSS expert, which I'm not...

Actually it was going the safe way so I did only the

first, to see what happens and wanted to do the other one after that -- or go back in case something went wrong...but that one entry seemed to be enough...!?! It did what i wanted, so I'm not sure if I need to add the first part anyway...?!

It looks just the way I wanted it now, even without modifying the CSS -- so I'll just stick with it for now...! ;)

Die Konkurrenz im Zustellungsservice hat aber derzeit nicht mal annähernd ein vergleichbares Online-Angebot...!

Trotzdem noch eine Info am Rande: Nach einigem Herumprobieren habe ich festgestellt, dass es durchaus auch mit OS X 10.5 geht — allerdings nur im Zusammenspiel mit Firefox...! Traurig, aber dennoch vielleicht eine nützliche Information für andere Mac-User, die die Online-Frankierung nutzen wollen oder müssen...!?

Enttäuschend ist jedoch auch hier, dass selbst diese Information auf der offiziellen Seite unter den Tisch gekehrt wird und man die Mac-Anwender stattdessen einfach mal abwimmelt...!

Hmmh, I guess I got ths wrong when I bought the app...!? I actually thought this would be a real multi-messenger for the iPhone platform...!? Kind of like Adium touch or so... ;)

But since all I can see is "Cannot connect to MobileChat" this is not what I expected...! As you state here you are having server troubles of some kind -- so it seems you are routing the traffic through your servers...?! Huh...?!

Why would you do that...?! Do I have to sign up for even another account with MobileChat first...?! Why not just connect the user to AIM or MSN or Yahoo or whatever service(s) they choose -- directly, just like other IM apps do...?! Am I misunderstanding the concept here...?!

I'm really a bit confused as well as kinda disappointed so far...but maybe I'm just not getting it...?! :(

Actually there is only one app of that kind, the AIM messenger that has been there from the start...! But that only connects you to AIM/iChat and ICQ -- so it's not really a multi-messenger...

The only other app I could think of is Pelringo, but since they make you sign up for their own service before you can actually use it, this is not an option for me...

Also, the way I use IM I actually wouldn't care if I am disconnected when I close the app...I usually chat a while (using Meebo or BeeJive) and then quit, sign off and do other things...

But I do understand, of course, that being connected even after leaving the app has its advantages and is even really important to many users...!

Man, looks like you shot sourself in the foot with this one...!? ;)

Anyway, I don't really want any compensation, 3$ is nothing to worry about, as long as you manage to deliver soon...! Actually I'm pretty fed up with people demanding to get everything for free in the app store by now...

Instead of a compensation I'd rather see you update as soon as possible and implement at least a few of the many suggestions listed in the comments...! Localization and support for international characters being rather high on my own personal wish list, by the way...!

If you need someone to help you with a German translation to include in a future update, feel free to contact me...!

Other than that, I'm not going to repeat the other stuff that's been suggested in several comments, I guess you'll filter it out and (hopefully) make the right choices...

First of all, you really need some kind of support forum or similar -- browsing through all these comments is more than tedious...!

While I can at least connect to MSN/Windows Live now, I am still unable to connect to .Mac -- I just tried and it says it disconnected me for trying to connect too often...!? WTF?!?
I haven't tried for at least 3 hours, so that "error message" is crap...!

I'm really trying to be patient but it's becoming harder the longer this mess keeps going...! :(

Okay, now I can connect at least to 2 of the 4 services I use regularly so i can at least try the app after more than 24 hours -- only to find myself even more disappointed...! :(((

This app is literally missing a sh*tload of features, which a decent IM app shuld have...! All the hype about how it stays connected and all may be great -- but what about the basics...?! Not only did it freeze the very first time it finally loaded some buddies and chats, but I don't see how I can, for instance; connect to a single service...!? It's always all or none...!? And since it has only connected me to 2 of 4 I actually have to go completely offline and then online again to try to reconnect the other 2 services...?! Unless I'm missing something here this is not the way it should be...

There's no way to set up some privacy options, I can't set buddy names of my own instead of the user id, it doesn't seem to load buddy icons, I can't merge contacts who are on different networks, I can't block or ignore people, I see contacts in the bddy list even when I am offline and, and, and --- the list could go on and on...!

Honestly, this is a huge disappointment as of now...! Even when (or if) they finally manage to get the servers up and running, this is far from a full-featured, commercial app that would deserve to be labeled 3.0 or even 1.0 respectively...! :(((

I don't really care about the 3$ I seem to have wasted, it's just that I was setting my hopes in this and it's a total letdown...

I'm back to the BeeJive and Meebo web apps for now...until a real working native app comes along...! This is not it, and it won't be for quite some time...! :(
