The rest of 'em sound just plain spineless. Maybe they're afraid of being identified as gay if they support gay marriage. Myself, I'm straight not narrow, and I don't care if people think I'm gay, because I don't see gay as being an insult.

Re: Sweden to end ban on gay blood donors

Being gay does not cause the spread of AIDS and other STD's. Having promiscuous, unprotected sex greatly increases the likelihood of contracting/spreading STD's. If I needed a blood transfusion I would feel comfortable if I knew the blood came from a monogamous gay man but nervous if it came from a promiscuous straight person. I don't know how people ever got the crazy idea that simply being straight made their blood less risky for donation. What a crazy world we live in!

Re: That New Car Smell

Well I for one am very glad that you found The One and wish you every happiness. And I would think you were cool as either a man or woman. But it is my hope that you remain a woman because I would hate to lose a real ass-kicking feminist chick. I salute you.

Re: Rob Huebel

Somehow creepy in their innocuousness.

Re: 11 of Ludacris's Sexual Fantasies That Are Just Too Damn Unrealistic - 11Points.com

Everything on his list: just no. The U.S. health care system is certainly not doing the lower and middle classes any good. Maybe some fat cats in the insurance system are profiting but everyone else is struggling.

Re: 6 Ways to Get Your Readers to Comment

I think that my method of going around beating them with sticks until they comment is bound to work one of these days!

Re: 11 Sexiest Items For Sale at the 99 Cents Only Store - 11Points.com

My momma always told me that curiosity would be my undoing. WTH? Anyone else ever get this?

I would remove the offending people from your facebook friends and let them continue spamming your old email instead if it so pleases them. And do keep writing. Also, I know being excommunicated is painful but honestly, that church is not for you. If you have to go it alone, the Universe doesn't mind. Also, there are more liberal churches, though maybe not in your area. Keep searching.
I'm actually surprised that I haven't had more accusations of "evil-ness" for my claims of spirit communication abilities. I was accused of being a devil worshiper when I was in high school. I just threw them the metalhead "devil horns" and grinned at them. Scared the hell out of 'em and I didn't even have to actually do anything much. Ha!
Has to be harder when it's family, though. These were just nimrods I went to school with.

Re: 11 Things That Are Weird To Do Alone, In Increasing Order of Weirdness - 11Points.com

I don't even like going out on New Year's eve. I always hope I'll be scheduled to work because then I'll get time and a half. I'd rather be there at the retirement community where I work spending a quiet night with the old folks than risking my life on the road with a larger than normal bunch of drunks.

Re: Just letting you know about some personal stuff

I would be terrified if it were me. This is the one and only reason that I feel a bit of relief that my son inherited the mood disorder gene. (His is unipolar depression--he doesn't seem to have triggered the bipolar one.) The military still doesn't want people with psych issues.
I hope with all my heart for your son's safe return. And here I was feeling at loose ends dealing with the prospect of an empty nest. I feel like a bit of a dork for that now. My son is going to Canada for a few months to work as a volunteer on an organic farming co-op, and then when he comes back he wants to get a job and apartment with a friend.
Feel free to email if you ever need to. I mean it.
lily@lilystrange.com
