I normally do not waste my time with ignorance..and folks who are ashamed
of who they are by not signing their name...it is obvious that you either do
not understand what you read or have not read the front page article in
THE DAILY HOME....let me make it easy for you...second paragraph on front
page of the DH states, "SPD chief investigator Lt Chris Carden said Ferlandez
Lamar Cook, 18, of Sylacauga has been CHARGED WITH MURDER in the Tuesday
evening shooting death of Trevan Hale, 30, also of Sylacauga. District Judge
Jeb Fannin set a bond of $100,000.00 on Cook for the MURDER charge around
10:30 Wednesday"....Eighth paragraph, third sentence states," He, referring
to Cook, had been transported to the hospital by private vehicle and was
also suffering from a gunshot wound." Now this would make most intelligent,
sensible folks believe that these two individuals shot each other..I
realize that Mr. Cook could have killed Mr. Hale for whatever reason and then
shot himself so he can try to use self-defense and I also suppose that a
"gunslinger fairy" could have been on the seen and shot these two. and if this
is the case maybe the fairy will return to plead guilty to the
shooting..With your theory, it is apparent that you don't have any confidence in the
SPD or the Judge who approved the murder warrant and set the bond. I
personally think they know what they are doing...If I am proven wrong, then I
will humbly ask forgiveness and apologize. I hope a lot of folks will keep
both families in their prayers...they are not to blame.....hope this answers

Two men argue...shoot each other....one dies....the other arrested....now the citizens will have to pay to wine and dine the survivor, while he goes to court, at a cost to the taxpayes, probably an appointed lawyer at tax payers expense, then if found guilty, will be incarcerated where he will be wined and dined for several years while he can watch t.v., work out with weights, get an education, and then be released as an educated "con"..all at taxpayers expense....if both men had killed each other, there would be very little expense to the taxpayers, but an economic boost to the economy.....funeral home, flowers, cemetary lot, digging of grave, marker for the grave, cost to announce the funeral arrangements in the paper and other incidental expense....all at the cost of family members........just thinking out loud.....Larry Barton

Having kept up with the trial via the Daily Home, I am of the opinion that the eight or so individuals who apparantly went to West Gate looking for the female to settle a score, should have been charged with conspiricy....Had they not gone in looking for trouble, this probably would never have happened....one dead another injured all over a disagreement.one going to prison for years at a cost to the taxpayers........what has happened to common sense? Just an opinion from Larry Barton.

As I read this article, I am almost laughing....not at someone being shot, but this is like a comedy movie. :"Precious"," Woochie", and "Toot Toot", along with all the various versions of who did what and at what time.There are too many conflicting versions of this incident...where was the housing project police officer while all this was going on? Dr. Lambert admitting he made a mistake on filing out the paper work,,witnessess saying the fight only involved one person, but as the witnesses testified, there were at least eight involved in the fight..one witness saw things looking through mailboxes...and all this was being seen under the cover of darkness..were there one, two or eight shots? One person thought they got shot, but realized they injured themself when they fell down running from the scene...I believe this could be made into a best selling movie. The only real truth and sad part is that a person lost their life during this fiasco....all caused by individuals acting "stupid." Based on what I have read in the Daily Home during this trial, if I were serving on this jury, I would never convict this young man of murder.....maybe neglence, discharging a weapon, possible assault, or even manslaughter, but never murder......It is this type individuals that makes Talladega look like Birmingham. Were some of these individuals raised to act "stupid" or did they stray from their raising...I undestand one mother went and got her teenage daughter and brought her back to jump on a person. Another individual who had been barred from entering the housing area, made it to the fight.....Is this what the future of Talladega will consist of?......Thanks to Chris Norwood for this excellent article. Isn't it great that there are intelligent, progressive individuals in position to know how to promote and create jobs for their area....it is a shame that we have a bunch called county commissioners, senator and representive that are holding up at least 100 jobs and the potential for millions of dollars to come into Talladega/County and even the state...I am referring to the 2800 plus acres located in Brecon. This land is just waiting to be developed as ordered by the federal government.....but the commission, senator and representive have done everything in their power to block the progress...including disobeying a federal order to deed the land to Lincoln....Election time is coming and I can assure these arrogrant, stick in your ear policitians, that this will be an issue and I will personlly work as hard as I know how to help defeat them...that is not a threat.....a promise.....with unemployment almost 12%, the development of this acreage would bring more dollars to our area and the state than the Talladega Speedway does....the park would be open seven days a week, 24 hours a day, and would draw people from all over the world....Talladega and the surrounding cities deserve this opportunity to have something, and it looks like it will only happen by "throwing out the bums" now in office.....Yes, I am still Larry Barton

Twitter is a social network. It is relatively new but is sweeping the
country taking the place or much email, chat rooms etc. Its fairly easily to
do. You just register and open a Twitter account. Its designed to be
ongoing if you want. Instead of signing in & out for emails and chat rooms or

People who what to leave messages or communicate go & come and leave

The way it works with broadcasting you just check a box when you fire up
our UStream broadcast. In addition to being available for people to tune in
to, they can go to the Twitter file as well and view the same thing. In
Twitter they can also ask me questions, comment on what they are watching.
They can key in what Twitter account they follow & it will constantly
monitor those account for activity.

According to recent news reports, virtually all of businesses & the major
TV networks are going to Twitter. It just helps expand our horizons even
further, pick up more & more audience. We now have had 880 different people
tune in to watch.

I chatted online last night with Harold Timmons who is the General manager
for the Chuck Wagon Gang. I play a lot of their music and they have been
watching and listening. He is sending me some brand new DVD's so I can
use them for filler material. With the new young members they really do
sound fantastic.

Also, in the last couple of days, I have been emailing back & forth and
calling these large Internet Browser organizations, especially AOL about
getting "larrybartonlive.com" more widely recognized. What they all basically
told me is for me to be patient that it gradually happens pretty much on
its own and that I have already done everything possible to bring it about
other that buying ads on large browsers. I looked at some of their prices
and we couldn't afford that. Its outrageous. I did find page after page of
complaints about AOL and the #1 compliant was the same thing we have to
deal with: its failure to rcognize web sites.

I stay alert all the time to anything we can do to improve our project.

+I realize my following comments are going to gaul some of you, but I have just talked with the owner of the so called "puppy mill" and have invited her to be a guest on my t.v. program, IN THE INTEREST OF THE PEOPLE", this Sunday night. (No, I am not a relative or friend). If the lady will be a guest, eveyone who has trashed this lady based on rumors, are in for a shock....This is not a puppy mill as alleged, but a person who spends hundreds of dollars for food, electricity and supplies monthly to take care of these animals....Yes, she realizes she should have had more help and not tried to keep so many animals, but if and when you get a chance to hear her story, you will be surprised. A lot has been said about her living in a single wide trailer...this lady and her husband, have grown children and grandchildren and are outstanding citizens of Calhoun County, but purchased this property on Cemetary Mountain several years ago as a weekend get away...At some point they decided to use this location for their business..I would strongly urge the powers that be not to neuter or spade any of these animals until a judge permits this...These animals are still her property until a judge decides different.. Mary & I are going to give a donation to Talladega Animal Shelter to help defray the expense in sheltering
these animals until the courts rule.. and all of you who are concerned, I hope you will do the same..It is easy to run your mouth, but put your money where your mouth is. .I could share a lot more with you, but I hope she accepts my offer to be a guest on my t.v. show and let you hear from her the "rest of the story". Those of you who have made some slanderous and defamatory remarks need to be careful...there are civil laws against this....especially when the remarks are "lies".and just because you hide behind a bogus name will not protect you......enough said.....now you can take me apart, because I am still Larry Barton.

Some of you have been waiting for me to "run my mouth" so hear goes...I have followed with great interest in this story about the alleged puppy mill....I know for a fact that the lady who owns/runs this facility is doing this as a means of making a living. It is obvious that the situation has gotten out of hand, whether intentionally or times have gotten tough and she has been unable to sell the animals. Having talked with folks really close to the situation leads me to believe that the lady, who was charged with 51 counts of animal cruelty this date and is out on $1,000.00 bond cares about the animals but impossible to look after more than 200 non-humans without more help or places to house these pets. As some have suggested, does anyone really believe this lady needs to locked up for 99 years, then shot? No one loves their pet more than Mary and I do and we treat "Dudley" as part of the family...I have been raised not be abusive to dumb animals that they are Gods creation and cannot fight back in most cases when abused. I have always been told that a person who would abuse an animal, more than likely would be abusive to their spouse , family or children. Some folks believe that animals have a soul and there will be animals in heaven. There are many scriptures in the Bible concerning animals.....some were eaten, some used as sacrifices, some were and still are worshiped in some parts of the world and the Bible even says that in the end time that the lion will lay down by the lamb...It also refers to horses in Revelation....Meanwhile back to locking up this woman and then shooting her...Title 13A-11-241 of the code of Alabama is the law that this woman was charged under...she could have been charged with many more counts than 51, and she could have been charged as a felony....the law enforcement officers charged her with misdemeanors....The bottom line would be if I were the judge, or serving on a jury that will hear this case, would be if she intentionally abused or deprived the animals of water, food and decent shelter in a clean enviroment, or if this situation escalated and got out of hand. I would be willing to say that if a survey was done all over Talladega County of folks who have animals, there would be many cases of neglect or not providing adequate water/food/shelter. You who have an animal and permit it to run loose, especially in the city, are negligent and the pet can be run over and killed by a car. Finally, I wonder how many of you that have jumped on this lady and want her blood and hide, have ever taken a stand against the murder of millions of unborn babies...called abortion.....how many of you writers have offered to adopt or help provide for so many of children that are deprived of food/water/shelter in our immediate city/county? No I do not know this lady who has been charged, but it is obvious she has made a big mistake and will have to pay the price, either by a fine, incarceration or both...unless the judge has mercy on her and let her have probation. The folks involved in bringing this to a head are just doing their job as required by man made laws....the Bible admonishes us to obey those who have authority over us....There are a lot of laws that I despise, and sometimes feel that we are fastly becoming a police state....until the people take a stand and demand changes be made, we will continue to live under rules and regulations. Now isn't this interesting....the good folks in this area are having to haul water due to contaminated wells, and Commissioner Jimmy Roberson says the county cannot help them....they don't have the money.....A few days back I made the comment on my t.v. program and on the Daily Home blog site that the county is not in as good of shape as they would have you to believe....Now for the meat of my comments. The county commission has had a deed to @2800 acres in Talladega for over five years and claim they want to develop it.....they refuse to deed the property to Lincoln as ordered by the federal government....now aint this special? They want to spend millions developing 2800 acres for recreation, but don't have any money to provide citizens with drinking water....I hope the folks remember this in the next election and elect commissioners who care and make priorities..Tune in to t.v. r47 Sunday night at 8PM and we will talk more about the do-nothing-commissioners.......Yes, I am Larry Barton

In response to Bush II....It is obvious that one or more of you up-standing Sylcauga citizens are liars.....Mayor Wright says one thing, Mrs. Curtis says something different, two councilmembers says there is a problem,,,you and your son says there is not a smell....why would anyone believe you or your son over these other citizens? What have you two done to claim fame of know it all? When a person makes a comment, trying to discredit another person, when I see that the person making the comment either doesn't know who they are or maybe they are ashamed of their heritage (mother & Dad) then I question the validity of that person...you stand behind Bush II...you remind me of a person who belongs to a terrorist group and has to cover their head and work under the cover of darkness.....If you have any credibility, and not ashamed to be seen in the light of day, I would invite you to be a guest on my t.v. show and let you share with the citizens of Sylacauga what the real problem is...I don't make the news, you and the citizens who do stupid things and it gets reported are the ones who make the news.Mayor Wright pops off at a council meeting and it made front page news...I have invited Mayor Wright to be on my t.v. program, but so far, he has not agreed to...I am of the opinion that 99.9% of the folks in Sylacauga are first class, but they deserve better than what they are receiving by those in control. Too many business owners and citizens have contacted me and made me aware that there is odor coming from the plant, and I have a proposed concent decree, where the company admits they have a problem and are trying to correct it....in closing, if you have the BALLS & A BACKBONE to get on my program and address this issue, let me know when you can be here. Thank you Mr. Terrell for two things. First, for having the concern for the school and willing to express your concern...I recall the days when it was almost an unpardonable sin to speak ill of anything in Sylacauga....things have changed...thanks to folks like yourself who don't dance to the high class drummer....I have always been an advocate of letting the citizens know what is going on....whether good or bad....they pay the bills and are entitled to know. Adrian Glass was arrested out of state, returned to Pell City and presented with a capital murder warrant. Isn't this the same man that the police were quoted as saying that Adrian was only "a person of interest", a few days back and was concerned about his welfare? I am confused. If he was only a person of interest a few days back, why was a warrant drawn up and presented to Adrian when he was returned to Pell City? I was taken to task for pointing out that the police have used this, "person of interest" too much. The citizens are not stupid...the police need to quit trying to deceive the voters...how can you believe an officer testifying in court that they knew Adrian was the alleged killer all the time, but were saying he was just a person of interest and they were concerned about his welfare....this is pure BS!!!!!!! Maybe the folks in St Clair County like this type policing....I don't. Just be honest with the folks...they can understand and accept the truth....As I have said many times, even though I served time in prison, I have much respect for quality, honest law enforcement officers.....not police who like to play games........I am still Larry Barton

Under the new form of government that Jim Preuitt got passed, it takes all
authority away from the mayor and gives it to the city manager....since it
makes the mayors position only part time, he probably can do other things
now that he normally could not do...the only way we will ever know is if
someone files a suit for the court to decide...thanks for your concern and
involvement. Keep up the good work...tune in Sun night to the t.v.
program...may get hot.

Now this is positive news..Qualon Millender was not picked for this team because he was from Talladega County, the school he attended, or because of the color of his skin, or because someone decided to give him something....he was chosen becasue he is qualified, by working hard, studying and applying what he had learned and the desire to reach his goal and provide a good quality of life for himself and family....We need more Qualon Millenders in Talladega/County and the world...Best Wishes Qualon.....Larry Barton

How much longer will the folks tolerate unethical activity from Jake Montgomery? How many reprimends does this make? Two, Three....how many? Is there more charges pending? Will he have to face an Alabama Bar Inquiry? I am sure the First National Bank and the Alabama Institute for Deaf & Blind are embarrassed...will they ask him to resign from the boards? Is Jake doing legal work for the institute and the bank and being paid? Should there be an investigation at the institute? ...do the citizens care that Jake keeps doing unethical things ? Remember how he tried to cover up the water board dealings? Remember how he tried to cover up the 911 board dealings? Is he being investigated for this? What if he had been appointed as Judge instead of Judge Fannin? A lot of questions from a lot of folks....Hey Jake,,wanna be on IN THE INTEREST OF THE PEOPLE T.V. Hall is quoted as saying, "he believes the financial picture is much clearer than during the time in question." Does this mean the financial picture is still "fuzzy"? For anyone who saw our t.v. program several weeks back will remember me saying I do not believe the county is in as good a shape as the taxpayers are being made to believe. According to the figures in this story, there was @ a half million dollars deficit in the different accounts.. If you watch the commission meeting on t.v.47 each meeting, you will see that several of the commissioners look like they are either drugged, drunk, or just plain stupid....when citizens approach the podium to address the commissioners, when the camera pans on the commissioners, they look like they are in a daze....I don't know how long it will be, but I predict that the truth will come out and the folks will be made aware that all is not o-ke-dokey at the court house...the law requires they publish a financial report in the newspaper every six months,,,,in march and sept....this has not been done...they are in violation of state law, and the DA needs to take heed, before we have another situation like we had several years back. These commissioners are making decisions behind closed doors...there is no way they can sit in an open meeting and vote to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars and never discuss the situation...Yes, I am being negative, but it is the truth....and it will eventually come to the surface.....if I am wrong, I will apologize openly....everything I have shared with the taxpayers thus far either on the computer or on IN THE INTEREST OF THE PEOPLE, has come true..Each commissioner has been invited to be a guest on the t.v. program....they will not accept.....wonder why? Are they afraid to face the voters with tough questions?.....Wake up Talladega County and start looking and asking questions before it is too late...........I am still Larry Barton.

Rev. Hank, You are partially right, however, ...the politicians do pretend to care about the children prior to them becoming voting age..........when politicians want to get laws passed for a lottery/gambling, ....IT IS FOR THE CHILDREN....when they want to add new taxes.....IT IS FOR THE CHILDREN.....etc....according to the news in the past few years,and even in today society, the ones who are really for the children are some Catholic priests, numerous school teachers, a number of religious leaders....and yes....a few politicians ....they have a name for this....sexual assault, rape, pedophile, etc.....maybe I should not have mentioned this though.....some would say that I am being controversial....oh well.........let me really stir up some stink....our president, and v.p. along with a colleg professor and a police officer, meet at the presidents house, have a friendly beer, vp Biden smoking his cigarette....I guess that is what he was smoking , and they call this......whatever.....please send me any comments you have heard, or material in the news where any religious leader/pastors, etc. who are against alcohol/tobacco, have expressed their concern or outrage that the top leaders of the US are seen on national TV, smoking and drinking.......could this have been FOR THE CHILDREN.....teaching them how to get along and repair broken communications?........bring on the heat....I can take it . BTY, in case there may be someone who has not heard or read, I did serve time in prison, but all my rights have been restored... I might also point out that I am not ashamed of my name....it is still Larry Barton

It's obvious callmeachristian does not read very well or understand what they have read...not one time has the Sgt been called a liar.....folks can be wrong a lot of times and not a liar....just mistaken....it's obvious you don't undestand the comments either....that figures.
