I can view the note on a mobile app; the links all work; and it shared well into different groups, with different intro text. I didn't try embedding any pics into the text. That's for another day. But, I think it is a major step forward.

Re: The latest Photoshop Fail. They brought tears to my eyes - tears of love, for their long hair, a pimple (or was it dirt?), their unruly jackets with the collars all askew. They looked just I know they did - at the time. They should never be "touched up". Never.

Re: Being There

Thanks, Brian. I also found your friend BloggerDaddy. You might know Rodrick Walters - in Miami? The Upbeat Dad? He took me to my first game of American Baseball. I went to Miami to meet him and his family a couple of years ago. We had met on Twitter and it was one of the highlights of my trip to the US.

Re: Being There

Loved this. Being online and in social media is important - having your online presence well managed it critical. Just a few bad comments can do your business a great deal of harm.

Re: Why You Shouldn’t Use Twitter to Post LinkedIn Status Updates

I always tweet to Twitter from LinkedIn - especially if sharing a discussion on LinkedIn or comments on a discussion. Tweets going direct to LinkedIn have to be short and do not always suit the LinkedIn audience. I really do not like to see streams of tweets in a LinkedIn Profile and no real LinkedIn interaction. Personally, I think it is a good move by LinkedIn to make LinkedIn users be more engaged.

Re: The Trouble With Bright Kids - Businessweek

In Singapore - they are very draconian.

Re: Ben Powell: Odd behavior for double quote key on US keyboard

This is driving me mad! Works brilliantly. So, if I tweet someone else's blog post, will that count as a Tweet from me or a RT by me? Will there be any conflict between two Twitter Tweet options? Wait and see.

Re: Sun CEO Tweets His Resignation, Haiku Style

Why just leave the room, when you can make an exit!

Re: Meetup wants us to MEETUP!!

Real Events are the key - at least here - in far away Perth, Western Australia. We do lots of face to face networking with our online contacts for a wide variety of reasons. Business, social, environmental. We network through Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Ning, Plaxo and others - and face to face is the best. We also list events on a range of sites, to get the widest possible audience.

Re: Woman Arrested for Facebook Poke

This is true. I had to report someone for spamming, who was not following me, after they retweeted one of my comments over and over again - in an inane attempt to use my name to support their product. After I warned them to stop, they continued to do it - hence the complaint to Twitter about their spam. How did I know, since I did not follow them? Every RT showed up as a "mention" of me. A mention I could do without!

Re: Chris Voss Defines: Who Is A Social Media Consultant?

You certainly have the credentials and experience to back up your claims as an expert - but I wonder about the 45,000 followers.

How often do you purge your follower list of those who have been inactive on Twitter for at least 45 days, because it is well documented that about 30% of people who sign up to Twitter don't stay and having them counted in your follower base can be (in my view) a little misleading as to the extent of your true influence.

Personally, I purge my follower list at least once a month because interactive followers make Twitter much more fun.

Re: Odd fishes you didn't know about

http://bit.ly/FrilledSharks

At least two of these weird creatures are shown on the National Geographic website - so, maybe they are all real.

Re: As Twitter Continues To Grow, Popular Users Widen The Gap

What is the point of having thousands of "followers" who are inactive on Twitter? It's a nonsense, because your Tweets are disappearing into a black hole in cyberspace. The point of Twitter is to actually be communicating with real people.

You do not improve your credibility on Twitter by posting a #FollowFriday for someone whose page no longer exists or who hasn't tweeted for three months.

Every week, I unfollow anyone who has not updated their account in the last 30 days. Out of 7,000 "followers", that can be as much as 15% of them - because so many people start and then quit. Take out the "bot followers" and the porn machines and you end up with a fairly stable following of real people and fresh interaction.

It might never put me in the top 1% but at least I know my Twitter community is real and active.

Re: The URL Shorteners that will get you the Most (or Least) ReTweets

This is an interesting survey, because I find that my web browser (IE8) often times out on bit.ly and is.gd and I suspect that bit.ly is used so much in Twitter because, if my memory serves me correctly without checking back, it is the first option that TweetDeck offers. I find that tinyurl.com gets a much better response time through IE8. Just an observation.

Re: New TweetPsych Feature: Top Lists

There seems to be a bug in your profiling software. I got suspended once, for accidently violating their rules, but with a proper explanation of what I was about, they put my account back on a good footing. I am a paying member of LinkedIn and frankly, the IM's I pay for are a waste of time and money.

I have made some incredible contacts through LinkedIn and value them highly. I think the new idea of add subgroups to large groups will make it much easier for us to be in a group that is more closely focused on our mutual interests AND will gradually be used by LinkedIn to reduce the number of groups on LI. They have over 300,000 groups - some of which have less than 100 members. That cannot be profitable for them.

If we were all restricted to only connecting with someone we already knew, how would we expand our networks. It's an oxymoron! I keep facebook for that reason - I only connect on Facebook with people I really know and trust. On LinkedIn, I am a LION - because I can always disconnect from you without you even know I have gone!

@wildlifeaid Special link for everyone on LinkedIn Leave your comments here http://tinyurl.com/o8bc9m

Thanks again.

Re: Win tickets to Brüno !

@lesleydewar Grum - I have been following you for ages, but I am always somewhere else when PTUG meets.
