After playing (and often struggling) with Backbone for a few months, this book is truly a godsend, helping me not only understand where Marionette fits in, but also giving me a much better understanding of how to structure my Backbone application and have the multiple elements working together.

This book has been invaluable in helping me ramp up my knowledge of developing modern single-page applications. I wish I had found it a few months ago, instead of wasting so much time with short-and-simplistic tutorials that don't help much when you are trying to build a larger application.

Next on my list: learning how to integrate RequireJS into the mix with https://leanpub.com/structu... (!)

I haven't watched this episode yet, but I did watch the previous 6 episodes in the series, so I'm assuming he is following the same pattern in this one and using the js-routes gem (https://github.com/railswar... to basically make the Rails routes available to Backbone by exporting them to a global js object called Routes. Check the reference page for js-routes linked above and it should help you understand this better.

I work with technology and even though I live in Brazil, I'm already feeling the impact of this recession in my pocket.

So, I totally understand your point and I do know that it's not easy (at all) to navigate against the "common sense". Congratulations for that! :)

Hi Jacob!

I like the passionate (infuriated?) way that you state your points, and I do agree that some articles/posts seem to be lacking some support from real facts instead of just "points of view"/opinions.

In any case, I read this article by Chris Dannen at FastCompany recently (http://www.fastcompany.com/..., that make somne points about "Why venture-backed tech hopefuls may be a haven amid the financial storm.".

Although I don't agree with everything that it's written there, it does have some good points.
