I am planning to use the Motiv mic with Soundcloud. That seems like it would do great for one voice. I do believe there are several programs intended for podcasting.

It was Christmas Day - there was no way we were going to be able to pull together a panel for a news show. Not there there was anything to talk about. That's WHY we do a holiday special every year.

Just so you're not disappointed, tomorrow (New Year's Day) will be a best-of. The next all new TWiT is Jan 8 followed by a week's worth of CES coverage from Vegas.

Boy I am surprised to see such negative responses to the show. I thought it was a great discussion with four of the best tech commentators in the business: Mike Elgan, Rafe Needleman, Kara Swisher and Kevin Rose - that's a dream panel!

Kara is one of the best tech journalists in the business. Kevin is always interesting - he didn't have much to say this episode but I thought his response to the Kindle was very well thought out.

You may not agree with comments that, for example, music subscription services are going to kill the iTunes/Google Music model, but I do think they made a good case, and are probably right.

I'll check out the audio level problem - that's something I can work with.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the show! We'll try harder next time.

I browsed the tweets from the top 500 from Stackoverflow. http://twitter.com/#!/brian.... Very little technical content - nearly all mundane tweets about daily doings. In other words, yes, Twitter is great for following interesting people, but the ratio of interesting stuff to mundane stuff, even from interesting people, is often very low. (Not a criticism, just an observation. I'm just as guilty as anyone else in that regard.)

I think you're better off browsing through lists like this for the handful of people who use Twitter to post useful stuff (e.g. Roger Ebert http://twitter.com/ebertchi... then mass adding from a list. Otherwise you're boosting your noise to signal ratio beyond the usability threshold.

I signed up for Ad.ly and they said my account was worth something like $2900 per week.

I charge $80 CPMs on TWiT so my Tweets should be worth four times what ad.ly is suggesting. I set my ad rate to a low low $10,000 per week. We'll see if anyone bites! (Hey- if I can make $500,000 a year with a few ads in my tweet stream I'll have to reconsider my stance.)

Thanks, Jeff! Truth is, I only just figured out Twitter's arcane reply rules (@dane clued me in when I sent him a congratulations on 15 years in business and only our mutual followers saw it). I try, these days, to put the @ name in a subordinate clause except when I really want to limit my answer to only our mutual followers. I bet 90% of Twitter users have no idea what we're talking about!!!
