There was a made-for-TV mini-series remake here in Japan that premiered earlier this year. I thought it wasn't bad, but then again I've never seen the Sidney Lumet version. It boasted some big Japanese movie stars, though, including Ken Watanabe's daughter. It was neat to see a re-imagining of it in a Japanese landscape (similar to how we recently saw the Japanese remake of "Unforgiven").

It's completely unofficial--I have no affiliation with Mr. Murakami or the publishing company that's doing this--but I've been a big fan of his for a long time, and I decided to make a personal project out of it.

This is a really solid list, and while I might rework the ordering a little bit, I almost entirely agree with what's on it. It just has one MAJOR oversight: TowerFall. It's a little-known game because it's only available on the cringe-inducing Ouya system. It's a multi-player archery arena battle game, and the simplest way to describe it while effectively expressing how fantastic it is is by saying, "It's like Super Smash Bros. with one-hit-kills." It's THE best game of the year. Thankfully, in early 2014 their exclusivity deal with Ouya will end and TowerFall will become available on the PS4, when it will finally get the recognition it deserves!

I saw Norwegian Wood in December and I gotta say it moved me almost as much as the book did. The film did a great job of capturing the essence of the book. And as a film the visual style is great. There's a 3- or 4-minute long take midway through the movie that was fantastic. I was wondering when the movie would make its way over to the US.

Yeah, actually, now that I've been here longer and gotten to know some teachers in other cities, I've discovered that these vary depending on location. I can say that these are 100% true for all the schools in my city, though.

The cool thing about C25K is that it starts out REALLY easy. The first week is just 20 minutes of alternating jogging for 60 sec and walking for 90 sec. And it gradually gets more challenging. I really have been doing almost no exercise at all up til now, so I think this will work well for me.

It's an NEC notebook. Pretty much the opposite of dope. Since I got my iPhone I don't even use it anymore because the iPhone can do things about 50 times faster. Also, oden is gross; you are crazy.

ah, i remember that hole in the ground! I don't think there's a single building in this whole town that's 12 stories tall. The tallest building around is a hotel, and it's only 7 floors or so.

yeah, well, it was originally a japanese manga, then an anime, then they made the j-drama (for 2 seasons and then a final movie), and finally the k-drama.

I don't have an answer for you, but i wanted to note that i came across the exact same problem either last year or the year before when i tried to do the same thing after watching "Elf" and i felt exactly the same way about all the versions that come up on itunes. I did, however, end up getting the one that I liked more than the others, which was an Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong combo. But I probably only liked it cuz I'm such a sucker for them.
