i don't understand the mentality of some restaurant patrons who feel they need to be worshipped just for walking in the door. perhaps at a super-fancy white tablecloth kind of place, but a tiny roadside burger joint?? personally, i adore lunchbox laboratory. they are pricey, and their portions are gigantic, but totally worth it. yum yum yum.

really? I can't imagine having a child whom i had tried to love and nurture for 17 years turn out to be a murderer. i can't fathom what this sicko was thinking, i cannot afford him any sympathy. but i can feel for his parents.

KOMO just had Manish's parents on. He was their only support and they may have to move back to India. Their pain is so palpable. My heart breaks for them.

They also had a brief comment from the shooter's father who said he was very sorry for Manish's family. I feel sorry for him too. It's all such an incredible waste.

not only that, but bicyclists (the league of American Wheelmen) were the driving force behind paving roads before the reign of the automobile. not that it has any bearing on this discussion, just an interesting bit of trivia.

i don't understand the mentality of throwing anything at people on the road--snowballs, wiper fluid, darts. is it ok if next time i'm on my bike and stop next to you in your car at a red light if i just unload my water bottle on you through your open window and then speed away? i hope maybe you're on your way to a nice dinner out, or maybe a job interview. why do we have to be such jerks?

i'm still unclear as to how the trail is going to drive the marine business out of ballard. is it just the possible rise in insurance costs they might have to put forth? my car insurance doubled when i moved from portland to seattle , even as my income decreased; i didn't, however, file for bankruptcy or decide to move to tacoma instead.

i live in ballard, but i can't say i know what they do in A LOT of the buildings in my neighborhood, not just the ones on shilshole. that doesn't mean i don't value the work they do.

yeah, remember the guy who hit the bump out and was propelled into oncoming traffic? he didn't make it. i can imagine being darted could cause the same loss of control.

i wanted to make it there for breakfast today but had to settle for lunch. i thought it was good but not spectacular, and the portions were HUGE . personally, i prefer a meal-sized meal that's appropriately priced; totally un-american, i know. i still plan to rally myself earlier and try their risotto benedict the next friday i have off.
