I knew Vinod from 1991 when I was in Trikaya. He was always soft spoken, jovial and helpful. May God give strength to his family to bear this loss.

Re: Flipkart attempts to go generic

Thanks for the comment, Arjun. Agree with you on the current approach to Planning on Digital. I think its partly a function of attracting creative talent who are good with new media. Which is again a function of affordability driven by client spends:) Clients agonize over strategy for a Social Media campaign and get into re-work mode on everything - all for a relatively measly amount. They don&#039t blink before spending a couple of crores on a film production but 1 lac a month for FB is &#039huge&#039!

Re: 31 examples of great craft in print ads

Hello Chetan. In the JVC ads, people are shown inside &#039trash cans&#039 - to represent the idea that you can delete them later & choose the best shot.

Re: Bookmarks

Thanks a lot!

Re: Bookmarks

Thanks a lot!

Re: Samsung: misdirected ‘wake up’ call to Apple fans

And oh, apparently Samsung has washed its hands off this stunt. In the past Samsung has run commercials poking fun at iPhone. I had said then that it will only make Android fans happy about their choice. Mark's post (see comment on this post) said: As soon as any brand does this, there’s a very real risk that what it is actually doing is fighting with its perceived nemesis on their terms and therefore, subconciously or not, by their strengths. Because of the underlying references, Apple also becomes a focus and therefore, by implication, an authority.

Re: Make Your Thesis Feature Box Content Change Based on Page, Post, Home, Or Whatever!

Great tutorial. We all have our own interpretations - going by the reactions (here and elsewhere) there *are* people who see it as a loss of innocence.

Re: Vodafone Boy-Girl ads: is the furore justified?

hi Adarsh, thanks for the comment. Let me repeat what I said in the blog post: it is disgusting to peddle cheap, vulgar stuff in movies meant for kids. I cringed when I had to see RaOne with my kid. And specifically during the scenes you mentioned. Neither am I OK with kids doing obscene dance moves. So no double standards there.

No arguments on kids having crushes. Maybe its a generation gap thing - oldies like me not relating to it. What I am uncomfortable about (I am as much entitled to my opinion as anyone else) is a brand communication that sends out messaging that can be construed either way .

Re: Disclaimer

Hahaha. &#039Paatti sollai thattadhe&#039 was nice.

Re: Even more must-have iPad apps for kids

hi thanks for the comment.
