I'm not looking to get into an M+ raiding guild (or whatever they are now) or maximizing literally everything as fast as possible, and it sounds like you're in the same spot overall. For me, I just do what I want most of the time, other than I try to do the Maw dailies and work on getting sytgia and rep with the Maw vendor (I forget her name at the moment), trying to keep up with the callings at least every few days, and running at least part of Torghast each week. Beyond that, I treat things like fun exploration and figuring out how these things work, and just do what sounds like fun at the moment.

Mind you, I'm also forcing myself to spend most of my time on my main right now, since I have a serious case of altoholism, but honestly, if leveling alts is what's fun for you, do that. I'm just pushing myself to absorb as much of the story as I can since I missed a lot of the latter Legion storyline and most of BFA.

Re: How to add an LED strip to your 3D printer

Hey, quick question: I'm looking at powering my octo-pi from my printer and was thinking of adding the LED strip (after holding my phone's flash up to it just so I can see what's printing, I can really see the benefit of this!). What would you recommend for wiring the y-cables: first split to power one buck converter, then a second to power the other, or would you split once to power the printer on one side with a second split to both buck converters on the other?

Re: Google may push people to Gmail, but it's a bad substitute for Inbox

No, just that we didn't need the function, when clearly a lot of us find it useful.

I'll tell you what: I'll not put words in your mouth if you don't tell us what we use isn't useful ;)

Re: Google may push people to Gmail, but it's a bad substitute for Inbox

That's fine, you don't have to like it. For example, I get an email that I can't take care of until I get home, I set it so that it'll show back up around that time.

Or, how about we don't need to justify how our workflow works, when it works for us. You do realize that regular users don't get new builds, right?

"enforced updates"
This is a bit annoying, but on the other hand, some of the rampant problems on the net were caused by people never updating, ever. Since I keep up to date anyway, I'll accept this minor annoyance.

"ads being delivered [...] along with unwanted apps"
I must have missed all these ads; where do I go to find them? For the ones we have seen, I refer you to the bugs comment.

"stranglehold control of everything you do"
I have no idea what this is referencing. Where does Win10 restrict what you can and can't do? I've found I can do literally everything I've tried to do with it that worked previously on Win7 and Win8/8.1, and then some.

Win10 is a huge step forward. Basically, they're altering their support window for Win 7 and Win 8.1. It's almost like they're trying to see if they can illicit a class-action lawsuit against them.

They're obligated to support these OSes until 2020 and 2022 (respectively), so their overly aggressive pushing makes no sense. Ultimately, as long as anyone is still running those platforms, they have to support them, so it doesn't actually gain them anything to push this hard, and ultimately their tactics are serving to alienate them to their paying customers.

I can't see this move doing anything at all for them other than pissing of businesses, which are their biggest customers. I have no idea what Microsoft is thinking these days, but they really need to get it together before they lose all goodwill they were trying for with Windows 10.

Re: Windows 10 RSAT and Windows Server 2016 Technical Preview 3 coming this month

Really? They released it only a month after Windows 8 RTM, and before general availability. I upgraded as soon as it was available and never went without RSAT.

As for Windows 10, it would have been nice if they had synced the releases, but as it is, I can wait a month to upgrade my work machine. I should anyway, since I can't really afford to have it break because of a day-one bug and spend all of my time fighting that.

Re: Review: Jawbone Up3

The "everything else" comment I took to mean everything beyond what was already in the much cheaper Up2. If Google didn't make any money from the deal, then it would be unreasonable to require them to dedicate resources to support; since they DO make money (and a lot of it) on the transaction, then it's only fair that they provide a reasonable level of support for the services they're providing.

Re: Warlords of Draenor Tanking Changes

My personal take is that, honestly, I miss the old passive mitigation where the object was to work on holding threat; now I feel like I'm working on keeping myself alive more than anything.

Anyway, I'm still having a lot of fun, so that's something.

As for the change, I agree that a tank's job isn't to deal a lot of damage, and having a mechanic that can be gamed to top the DPS charts feels wrong. Too, though I worry how this will play out, I'm looking forward to mechanics that will leave our groups slightly bloodied while fighting; after all, after a 20 minute battle, we shouldn't be coming out looking pristine and whole, we should be battered and bruised. The Resolve mechanic looks like you said, a way to do that while keeping the tank healable.

I'm looking forward to it.

Re: Top 5 Reasons Why No New Race or Class in Warlords of Draenor is A-OK

Oh, sure, they happened. While I've not been in a good position to push for it at companies I've worked for, I'm moving in that direction, and the fact that I used to use it personally would make me lean heavily in its favor.

Now, since I have to go find a different solution for my personal life (my use is and has been limited enough that if I needed to pay for it, I'd probably not even bother), when I get to a position of decision making power, I'll likely lean towards whatever I wind up replacing them with instead.

That's just me, but I'm betting there are a lot of people who will get a taste for TeamViewer or the like instead of LogMeIn now, and they'll lose relevance. Which is sad, because I loved their product, and still think they have a great offering.

Re: 6 Gun Mage -

Yes, I'd REALLY like to see the RSS feed set up; I don't keep up well with any webcomic that doesn't use one, and I really like this one so far and don't want to miss out!

Re: I’ve seen CCleaner clean up some data, but this takes the cake

I once had it claim to have cleaned 17 yottabytes.
