I recently lost most of my eyebrows due to chemo, and I found myself interested--for the first time--in brow pencils! I actually got this one as a gift, and it's fantastic: It Cosmetics Brow Power. It looks like a gray pencil but somehow looks...like...your brows even if they aren't gray?! Mine are dark brown, but spotty, and using this pencil they look full and, dare I say, fancy. I get a total kick out of it daily, and it makes me feel better about having spotty "real" brows!

A mini fridge in our basement to hold adult beverages and snacks. We got the fridge as a hand-me-down - it's a little dorm-sized doodad. Love it.

On a very similar topic: We recently needed a new litter scoop (two since we have two litter box areas), and I really like this one: https://www.chewy.com/dp/13... It's metal, and a little heavy, so it may not be for everyone...but I really like it since we use a clumping litter and no litter pan "liners" so pee gets kinda stuck to the sides. This both scrapes that off and can lift a big hunk of pee (oh, my aging cats' kidneys) with no problem. We haven't installed the little wall hooks they come with but may do that soon.

My friend just told me that last night, her five-year-old daughter told her, "Mommy, I'm going to vote for Hillary Clinton. She loves children. The other guy doesn't. And also we haven't had a girl president yet." WE BOTH MELTED MORE THAN A LITTLE.

[CN: continued TWD spoilers, obviously] I watched TWD early on, and when I stopped I still enjoyed the occasional Liss Hate-Watch Recap-o-rama here. Thank you for all you did, and thank you for taking care of yourself and exiting stage left. I've only read/heard a bit about this episode, and of course saw the unavoidable hype before the episode aired. There was a rumor or theory that Rick was going to be the character who was anonymously killed, right? HAHAHA whoever came up with THAT idea has never really watched this show. Not that switching out Glenn for Rick would excuse the rest of the horrific decisions the writers have made, but it would've been so inconsistent that I'd maybe give a slow clap to that one decision. (Knowing the comic series is still in progress and features Rick, as others have said in comments, means this was super unlikely, though I didn't realize that.) My silver lining is hopefully this means seeing Steven Yeun in Many Other Shows. I like him a lot. (That being said, I don't know if my opinion of him will be colored by how he promotes/talks about his end on this show...meh, I'll try to ignore it.)

The debate comment of Trump's I'm stuck on, honestly, is near the end when he wanted to give himself credit for some terrible attack he was holding back. (He made it apparent backstage later that this was related to Bill Clinton's infidelity and/or the Clintons' marriage, I believe. Oooookay?) Regardless of what the attack/bullshit was, the fact that he wanted CREDIT for not saying some awful thing--implicitly comparing Hillary's anti-Trump ads to personal attacks, even though they just parrot back his own words--and also did that childish "oh, it's so bad, I can't say" thing that begs you to ask what it is?! To me, that's him in a nutshell. A tiny, gnarly nutshell.

Doesn't Clinton have a campaign ad (on TV) right now that essentially says that line about sweating the details? I love that line. I'm in a (nominal) swing state so I've been seeing lots of political ads. My current LEAST favorite is Trump's ad that quotes Clinton's "basket of deplorables" line and has this awful dogwhistle at the end that's in second person (addressing "you"): something like she's saying this about you "hardworking people." Oh, REAL subtle there, Tee-rump. Hardworking...unlike your racist and xenophobic and sexist assumptions about tons of people who aren't "you"?

My eyes and brain have this bad habit of skimming a page and thinking a word is there that isn't. In this case, that word was "pizza" (as may be obvious, I am hungry right now). The word was Cillizza. This is NOT to make fun of his name, but to wonder what the world might be like if he were a pizza instead of a reporter. Maybe everyone would be happier!

Mine is also not in order, since it depends on the day which one is shining brightest in my memory:
1) Getting hitched. We made that day our own and it was wonderful.
2) My first kid's birth. It was also one of my worst days! It's a twofer.
3) Meeting my two cats as kittens and bringing them home with us <3 They're 12 now!
4) First day visiting Yellowstone about 3 years ago with my husband (he'd never been before).
5) First day visiting New Orleans with my husband (*I'd* never been)

I've only watched a smattering of Olympics, but I did catch one of Michael Phelps's gold medal wins last night. Comparing his reaction upon winning to Katie Ledecky's reaction is...telling. And I don't know all the context, but can say that Phelps looked angry, arrogant, and humorless (though he did eventually embrace a few of his rivals), even wagging a finger at someone for some reason. Katie Ledecky just looks thrilled and proud and, well, kind. I have no idea if that's fair, but boy did it strike me.

This mostly makes me bemoan the state of journalism today... I mean, I sort of understand why it's newsworthy/fun/whatever to goad Trump with questions that essentially amount to opinion (though if there's a quantitative way to measure "temperament," I have a feeling Trump would be to one extreme end of the spectrum...), but at this point we know all he'll do is deny, disclaim, argue, and turn it around on whoever is quoted as having the opposite opinion as he does. If George Stephanopoulos is going to pursue this line of inquiry, he may as well pile on. Who else agrees with Hillary? Can we find some more quotes and just make a big verbal stack of 'em and refuse to stop for Trump's interruptions? Just...try harder. Argh.

I'm not sure *how* relevant this is, but Tim Kaine being from the South seems like another jab of sorts to Sanders' approach during the primary--meaning, ignore the South, focus on the (Great White) North. There's a lot more to unpack in that idea, not the least of which being that Virginia is a swing state (unlike many other southeastern states), but I'd like to think this is another smart, savvy strategy to engage the "Obama Coalition" in this election, again. Based on some comments I'm seeing here, it sure seems Kaine is better known in Virginia and the surrounding region than in the U.S. at large.

I (apparently) pat my food when I eat, like with the back of a fork or spoon. I have yet to catch myself doing it, but my friends and spouse crack up when talking about it, especially my obliviousness to it. I also sometimes hum when I really like what I'm eating--not as much as when I was a kid, but still!
