I really like the three guiding words idea because it truly causes you to reflect on the various methods you need to take in order to make sure you achieve your goal. Often times we have a tendency to desire favorable results and fail to prepare ourselves to do what it takes to get the results we seek. I look forward to creating my motto in conjunction with the three guiding words method ( doesn't hurt to have more than one way to hold yourself accountable-lol). Thanks for sharing this information!

Re: 5 Ways to Start a Business without Going into Debt

Rod,
Great info! I did not get myself into debt starting my business because I did many of the steps you mentioned. In fact, I even incorporated by myself (it's not as complicated as people may think) and filed my own copyright.

You can save a lot of money if you are willing to research and put forth the extra effort. It is extremely gratifying to do it by yourself because this knowledge cannot be taken away from you and you have the ability to pass it along to others.

Re: How to Create an Editorial Calendar for Your Blog

Rod,

This is a great video and if doesn't get people motivated to use an editorial calendar--I don't know what will! Another, way I like to give life to my old blog posts is by using the LinkedWithin WordPress plugin (http://www.linkwithin.com/). Great advice!

Re: 5 Ways to Promote Your Facebook Fan Page

This was a great post! I have also found that putting your Facebook Fan Page URL on business cards is another way to drive people to your page as well. I make it a point to put all of my social media profiles on my business cards so people can contact me on the platform of their choice.

Re: 7 Underhyped Web And Mobile Twitter Apps

I would like to add TweetMiner to the list. This application is rather new, but I absolutely love it and I think you will too. A friend introduced this app to me and I am addicted to it. Will look into the other applications as well. Thanks!

Re: How to Think Of Blog Posts

I am constantly reading books, blogs, magazines, etc. and always manage to find an angle that hasn't been explored. I seem to get my best ideas when I am away from my computer. The best blogs out there are written from people who don't just talk about their topic--they believe in "living" their topic as well (like you!).

Re: Poll: Do You Use an Editorial Calendar for your Blog?

I definitely agree with using an editorial calendar because it makes it so much easier for you to blog. The best way to blog in my opinion is to have a blueprint. I'm always coming up with different ideas and when you take the time to plot them out on a calendar you're able to see how you can arrange your topics in such a way that doesn't cause your readers to get bored by constantly discussing the same topic.

For example, if your blog discusses social media you might not want to discuss Twitter for 5 days in a row. You want to mix it up with discussing topics such as forums, Facebook, etc. A calendar enables you to "spice" up your blog rather than haphazardly trying to rely on your memory. Great post!

Re: How to Add Retweet Buttons in Your PDF Documents

Thank you for this post! Can't wait to get started in adding this button to my PDFs ( I am also am a huge fan of bit.ly!). I really do enjoy this blog and thanks for the great information!

Re: Overnight Success 5 – Belief Systems

I agree! Pride always comes before the fall. You will always go further with humility (this is why I believe you are so successful!). Looking forward to see what is next in this series!

Re: Overnight Success 4 – The Competition

I am thoroughly enjoying this series! I agree 100% that if you're too busy looking at everyone else and wondering what they think about you then who is left running your business? No one. If you spend your time focusing on your strengths you will achieve success. Thanks for the inspiration!

Re: Revealing the People Defining Social Networks

Thank you so much for taking the time to place all of this data in one spot! I will definitely be using this information to "spread the word" to those who still believe social media is a fad.

Re: I Love the Livescribe Pen

I do a lot of article writing and this pen definitely plays a large role in helping me gather my thoughts. These are the reasons I have been a fierce advocate of social media as well. It is nice working with small to mid size companies, because in my opinion they are more receptive to trying new techniques-especially if they are cost effective. Social media is definitely here to stay!
