I agree with much of what you say and have written about this myself on my own blog. As an e-learning professional who has worked with technology to support learning since 1990 it's been fascinating to see how rapidly technology has changed and how slowly education and training has evolved to take advantage of it. We still replicate old models online and have yet to adopt radically different instructional models that are much more aligned with the way our brains want to learn and which can only be economically realized using the networked technology of today. So yes, the real change has yet to come.
