The authority to judge someone's moral principles on the basis of a couple of tax dollars you paid? The sense of entitlement you have is astounding. Only child?

By the way, I've paid hell of a lot more in CA taxes than you have, babe.

Re: What I did with my first unemployment check.

And that was exactly what my problem was with your response. Would probably be a good idea to learn how unemployment works before getting all self-righteous. I've been paying my taxes in California for 10 years and meet all of the requirements for receiving unemployment benefits. What I do with the benefits that I'm entitled to is my business, really.

And here's the dirty little secret. I haven't actually received my first unemployment check yet. I did, however, receive a severance package from the company that let me go, so I could have easily replaced "unemployment" with "severance" in the title. Or I could've said I used my savings. Would you have reacted in the same way if I phrased the whole trip as "I just got laid off and needed to relax so I spent a portion of my severance check/savings on a trip to Vegas"? The original just has more entertainment value...

Lighten up, honey, have a little fun.

Re: Pushing the Limit.

Thank you, sir.

Re: I've stumbled to new lows.

No, thank god. I don't take life too seriously and I think it's pretty obvious here because I poke fun at everything (even myself). Pong's point (which I am supporting) is that no one should take what I say too seriously when, at least to us, it's obvious that I don't even take myself that seriously. It just kind of came off like you're on a crusade to end all discrimination towards gays on the internet.

To be fair, you don't know me and I understand that some of what I write is offensive. I started this blog so that my friends could follow the progress of the first 6-pack challenge (since they bet against me). That's why I write in the same voice that I speak to my friends in. It's great that this has evolved into something more than just a blog for my friends, but I did make a conscious decision not to change the way I write just because I have other readers... even if it means offending some people.

Bottom line: there's a difference between someone who believes that gay people are unacceptable and someone who merely pokes fun at stereotypes, e.g. gays are well groomed hence the reference to gays when I got my haircut. Just know that I'm not the former, but I do think the latter is okay.

Anyway, I think this debate should stop because I got all I wanted from it... a fantastic quote that I thought I'd never hear and have been waiting for. It means I made it in life.

"if some misguided gay guy wanted to whack it to Larry's nipple pics there's nothing he can do about it"

Re: The 6-Pack Challenge II: Pictures?

This just in. I had a conversation during lunch with a gay man. It was very nice, amicable and we even talked about his partner. In your facccccccceeeeeeeee!!!!!!

(The above is true.)

Also, I was telling my manager about this whole exchange and he reminded me that I worked for Shiseido Cosmetics! Can't believe I forgot to mention that. How can a straight guy be anymore gay-friendly than me!!!!

Re: R.I.P.

Indeed.

Re: Pushing the Limit.

Well, I have 2 brackets... one where I go with my heart and the other with my brain. I drive a VW Beetle (my second one). I have been known to carry a man purse. I'm open about having a major crush on Taylor Swift. Not your typical bash-the-fags heterosexual male, agree?

Either way, my comment was made half in jest, as noted by the "seriously though". Milk is one of my favorite movies. Love the gays.

Lighten up!
