To get compass going I added this to my Gemfile

gem "compass", ">= 0.10.2"

And this in config/initializers/compass.rb

require 'compass'
require 'compass/app_integration/rails'
Compass::AppIntegration::Rails.initialize!

I'm hoping to have the place operational by the end of March. We've got an Asheville.rb meetup there on March 4 that will probably be pretty bare bones - then hopefully a couple of weeks after that we'll be opening the doors. Looking forward to seeing you (and working out the NC Coworking visa)!

It's been 3 days now and I've used the space to work out of (12 dollar card table and 4 chairs) for a few hours every day. So far no hiccups. About half of the in-wall jacks are wired up (http://twitpic.com/1ko1d) and the network laser printer/fax/scanner is good to go. W00t!

And yes - if SkyRunner were at my house I'd think about switching.

I'm still working out exactly what the pricing plans and membership options will be. We'll be membership-based, and month-to-month with no long-term commitment required. At least two levels of membership will be available, and we are considering a third. Details to follow within a week or so...

The doors will open in February, I hope! Early adopters between Feb and May get to be beta testers of the site and help us make it THE coolest place to work in town.

Toby - it includes everything but kitchen, bathrooms and basement. Here are the *rough* measurements.

First floor
* Front room - 17.5' x 13'
* Back room - 9' x 13'

Second floor
* Front room - 14' x 13'
* Middle room - 10.5' x 14'
* Back (sun) room - 7.25' x 14'

I'm thinking upstairs are all desks. Full-timers go in the front room (4-5 people) and sun room (3 people). Part timers go in the middle room (4-5 people). Downstairs front is lounge with couch, a couple of chairs, etc. The back room is the conference room with a single long-ish table that can seat 5 or 6 people.

Update - the owner of Barley's is a friend and neighbor of mine. Barley's backs up to Wilson Alley. According to him, the city has been working on the leak problem for the last several weeks. Not encouraging.

Don - the Wilson Alley space is 1400 square feet. http://asheville.craigslist...

The top level of the space is kitchenette, bathroom and maybe a lounge. The downstairs space where the desks would be is probably 1200 square feet. I went this morning with a tape measure to the Broadway space and it's got about 850 square feet of desk space and 650 square feet of kitchen and bath.
