Hey Ben,
When Barrett and I started getting healthier last year, I was pretty much in charge of what we were eating and I know it can be overwhelming. So I'd be happy to send you recipes, ideas, etc. that we used. Do you have any dietary restrictions, allergies, etc? Do you cook much? If you give me your email I can send a bunch of good stuff.

I just finished "The Elegance of the Hedgehog" by Muriel Barbery, I really enjoyed it. I would also recommend "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy.

How did you get through "My Sister's Keeper"? I was a complete mess by the end

I feel you. I have this problem with soy. Anything high in soy protein gives me major digestive distress. But it's cropping up more and more where I least expect it because it's the new health craze. I definitely feel you.

Lahaina. Cheezburger in Paradise. It's a touristy sort of restaurant and a bit kitsch, but the burgers are tasty, the beer is local and the view is unparalleled (it's right on the water). Also, if you're into coffee, Maui Grown Coffee Co, also in Lahaina is top-notch.

I am totally jealous and wish we could have gone back to Maui this year.

The only two Pixar movies I can think of that pass this test are A Bug's Life and The Incredibles. Princesses Atta and Dot and the Queen talk about running the anthill, and Helen and Violet talk about growing up "super".

Marriage used to be a societal necessity, but now I have to agree with the people who say that marriage is a lifestyle choice. It's great for some, totally not for others. People who want marriage and people who don't will probably never understand the other point of view. Whether or not it's "worth it" has more to do with the nature of the actual relationship, IMO.

I have been with my guy for four years, happily committed with no wedding rings in sight. We live together, share our day-to-day lives, take care of each other, make each other laugh. Our lives are not that different from most married couples, I suppose, but I don't want to get married just to conform to some kind of standard or to make other people happy.

It boils down to this: Are we happy? Yes. Do we need a piece of paper and a ceremony to make us happier? I don't think so.
