My father taught it too me...and it was that the first thing you say when you wake up or open your eyes on the first moment of the first day of the new month, you say "White Rabbits, white rabbits!" It's supposed to bring you luck for the month...unless you're a bunny I guess. I know he said it was an old Yorkshire (UK) thing.

I used to climb the outside stairs, up to a flat of mine
in the old part of the city.
I could look four from the back windon into the flat next door.

Ayn Rand seems to make a lot of top lists when the economy takes a nose dive. I read her when I was young and liked for for a bit but then learned the real world just isn't that way.
