(gotta update the follow-up guide examples).
The problem with enable_extension (and execute, for that matter) is that you usually don't have the superuser rights needed to enable the extension.

Re: Rails 4 UUID primary keys with PostgreSQL

Well, it is somewhat easier to work with auto_increment, especially in the prototype phase. The project has to grow _a lot_ before the benefits of UUID become really clear.

Re: Rails 4 UUID primary keys with PostgreSQL

Yes, it would be nice to hand-off the primary id generation to the DB adapter, and let the user configure it, something like :id=> false/uuid/auto_increment

Re: Chef on steroids

And why not run chef from Passenger?

Re: http://mashablehq.com/post/2623656949

Awesome! The beginner readers won't get all confused and sad because they don't understand your badass testing articles.
2. Your advanced readers will be spared from reading the beginner articles and won't annoy you with silly comments.
I talked to a lot of people about this blog. Everyone loves it, but almost everyone got annoyed when you guys started posting those «look what you can do, kids» articles.
And also... thank you for the serious articles! =)

Re: Catch a tiger by the tail

Tried it out yesterday.
