maybe the stations bitrate is to high for sprints network. I know they have been bogged down lately.

This app can play any stream type supported by your particular phone. If you go to the specs page of your phone you can read the specific file types supported like mp3, acc, ogg etc... Other apps may be using custom players where my app uses androids player.

Just to clarify for everyone else...her is referring to the TouchPad version of this app that runs on webOS Enyo. It is incapable of running Bluetooth for several reasons. The Android app runs on Bluetooth perfectly.

Thanks....this method was created out of necessity when I bought my first mac. The mac scrolling drove me crazy. Thank goodness it's fixed.

Currently I do not have plans to update any of the Internet Radio applications for webOS (webOS died...I moved on to developing for Android). When enyo 2.0 is out of beta and working like it should I will most definitely build a new version of the app similar to what you see in this article. Enyo 2.0 will work on your phone so don't worry (the new release will be free). I am currently deep in development porting Internet Radio to Android. Except a release soon for that.

i just saw all the comments and feel like I have not provided enough instructions. First you MUST have a working active internet connection to use internet radio. So turn on wifi and get hooked up. Second, to find stations click the shoutcast search button and the middle pane will display a keyword field. Within this field type an artist, album, station, or genre or any other keyword you think might help you locate a good station. Once you see a station you like in the middle pane click it and the third pane becomes active and begins to play the station and provide stats about the station. This pane also provide a field where you can copy the station url and paste it elsewhere for your use. The different panes become active so that if you use this app on a smaller device like a pre3 it will still work. Internet Radio HD Pro for webOS 3.0+ represents the next iteration of the webos 2.0 app internet radio (made for pre, pre2, pixie, pre3 etc..) that is used 5000 times a day everyday (btw, that app is free and works great on the touchpad). I hope this resolves your problems.

do you want to build your own like the one i made or do you want me to build it? Do you have any experience with Ubuntu?

The prepackaged options have gotten so good these days that is hard for me to compete. I would recomend you either build it yourself to save the $100 premium i tack on for building and seting up software. Or buy a prepackaged option from Promise, Qnap, Thecus, HP, Synology, or Netgear ReadyNas series. Just review the NAS charts on smallnetbuilders.com

I plan on releasing some tutorial videos in the near future on how to setup your own Ubuntu based NAS. The tutorials will go over SMB sharing, Time Machine setup, DLNA sharing, and file serving on web.

It comes with Ubuntu 9.04. I will always update to the most recent version of Ubuntu. I cannot offer any other OS because i have not tested compatibility with the hardware on anything but XP and Ubuntu. There is really no reason not to want Ubuntu unless you want a liter OS in which case i can install Xbuntu.

The system maxes out at 2GB of ram which is what i offer.

I do not include the wi-fi card. They should work fine with ubuntu but my price does not include the wi-fi card. Plus you do not want to run a high performance NAS like this on wi-fi. Gigabit ethernet is WAY faster.

Thats good to hear that you got iphone OS 3.0 up and running on your phone. I too am an iphone developer but have been too lazy to install the new OS. I'm glad those features work well.

Michael brings up a good point. Where can we buy the new iphone? It will be announced today but your guess is as good as mine. Obviously you will be able to buy them at AT&T. Now where else is anybody's guess. Here is my guess:

That will be very similar to the new SMS and MMS features of iPhone OS 3.0 which does run 24/7. I think the more interesting thing is that you can have a third party app like AIM or possibly some kind of port of pidgin or trillian that can run 24/7 giving you instant notifications for any account whether its AIM, Gchat, or yahoo messanger.

Yeah I was talking about multitasking with third party apps (or combination of third party and proprietary apps). Apple does not allow third party apps to run in the background. I was also talking about internet radio because its something a lot of us do on a regular computer (think Pandora) but apple does not have that feature built into the iPod of the iPhone so you have to use third party apps. So if you want to check your email while rocking out then you will have to wait for iPhone OS 3.0.

Cool! you finally got the disqus thing working. Now commenting will be way better. Try putting the disqus plugin code into a text widget. It is cool too. Now kellen needs to get on board. Ugh i hate fuzzy pictures.

it did not update because i literally got disqus for my site yesterday. But i figured out what was wrong with the facebook connect api key not showing up when i clicked it. I was using firefox 3.0 and chrome both of which it did not work on. Then i went home and used safari and boom there it was the facebook connect api key! finally, i got it working. Thanks for the help. Please check on this because firefox is my favorite browser and uber popular. I feel weird that i am the only one this has happened to.
