The problem is overuse of it. It's become a style that is totally played out now. I rarely ever see it used in an inventive way. The last movie, i felt, that used it really well was Where the Wild Things Are by Spike Jonze. He married analog and digital effects in a way that was completely charming, believable, and interesting. CGI just seems like a cost effective way to make a movie now, but if movies are truly an artform, how do we make an artform better by always rehashing the same old tricks?

My main gripe with it is that it seems to be this industry standard now with feature films. During the Toy Story days this was awesome because it felt brand new. It was a completely new experience, plus the story wasn't too bad either. Now it just seems lazier to think that all animated movies have to be done in CGI to be worth making or watchable. I personally wouldn't have a problem with it if the market wasn't so saturated with these types of films now. They're very visually predictable and safe. The only thing that is changing with them is the resolution everything which is just a polish in in the end. Not some something that with substance that's bridging ideas togethers in a brand new way.

Re: Playstation 4 Concept

these are so sweet and classy.
