This is getting unassuring. The day MC3 was released, we're told 3.0.1 was submitted to the app store. Two weeks later, when the 3.0.1 update should be getting released to resolve some of the bugs, we're being told that you're trying to get Apple to release the 3.1 update (as if it hasn't even been done yet), which is only going to delay things further.

On top of it, after all the server troubles are supposedly supposed to be resolved by now, my usernames are not staying online. Nearly every time I log in on my phone and then check on my computer a couple hours later, they're no longer online.

Some of those issues aren't server side issues and as far as "MMS pics shows as links," ummm...that's what they're supposed to do. Palringo may tout this as being one of their features but unless the people on the other end are using the Palringo desktop client, a link is all they see to.

I'm sure all their server side features will be implemented as soon as they determine their new servers and software are going to do the job.

MobileChat 3.0.1 has already been submitted to Apple and they stated they'd submit 3.0.2 on Monday. So open your mouth and insert your foot.

Hey guys. Just wanted to say one of the problems I originally reported about the away status setting when you leave the app whether it's disabled in the Settings or not appears to be working now. I was very surprised by this as I figured it would require an update to the app to fix.

However, if you are set away and return to the app it doesn't set you as back.

You guys need to respond to the hordes of these stupid people's claims with a new Tumblr post because a lot of people don't read through the comments and 10 people end up posting the same thing that's been answered 9 times previously.

One of the obvious things I think you should post about is to the people who keep saying how stupid it is that MobileChat connects to your server before reaching the official protocol's servers. They don't understand that ANY application is going to be required to do this to take advantage of the Push service Apple will roll out in Sept.

Why don't you learn something about version conventions? Just because software is buggy doesn't mean the version number should be lowered. This software was 1.0 and 2.0 when it was developed for jailbroken phones. They have since gutted the program out and made it so that it runs with Apple's iPhone SDK.

I just tried this in Safari at a message board I post on and after a period it automatically went back to letters and auto capitalized.

This has been my experience with this as well.

MobileChat has always said I've tried too many times (haven't been able to log into it on my AIM yet), however I can visit meebo.com not one minute later and connect just fine.

And another thing regarding the away message:

Away mode is disabled by default but still sets you as away when you exit the app. I have manually enabled and then disabled this but it still sets you as away no matter what this is set to (since I prefer it to not set me as away on my mobile ever).

Some more feedback:

1. Buddy icons aren't loading for other users. I haven't seen it appear when chatting with myself on my computer. It appears blank and when chatting with someone else who has the app, it is blank through MobileChat as well. Edit: This refers to the buddy icon set in MobileChat.

2. The "<username> is typing" bar doesn't appear when chatting with someone else with MobileChat (or hasn't in my experience). It does work (and very well/quick) when chatting with a desktop client such as Adium.

3. My MSN account within the 10 minutes will connect in MobileChat (handshakes/cookies/etc) but it doesn't appear online to my other username on my computer and if I try to send an IM from MobileChat to my computer, it never receives it. I can disconnect and reconnect with it successfully connecting (crash here and there) but still won't appear online.

Few more things I'd like to mention that I have encountered:

1. When you're in landscape mode and you go to add a photo and choose an album, rather than the top left button saying Photo Albums and allow you to back out of that album to go to another, the button says Chats and you can't go back and have to either add a picture from that album or exit out of the app and go back in.

2. When typing a period space, the keyboard doesn't return to letters and auto shift for the first letter.

3. I haven't been able to determine what caused it but on two occasions, I have received an IM and saw it (such as the "Chats" screen) and then went into the individual chat window and the message was gone.

Couple questions...

Is the bug with contacts not disappearing when they are no longer connected or you no longer connected to a particular protocol going to be fixed in the version that has been submitted to Apple?

Why does the photo uploading only upload a square photo (cutting off a good portion of the top and bottom of images) rather than the full image?

I don't know. I haven't tried it because I can't log into my AIM account due to "too many tries."

One of the developers mentioned the email pushing situation in the comments of one of the previous updates.

How many times does this have to be answered? Their app keeps you logged in whether you are in the app or not. It doesn't disconnect you unless you tell it to disconnect you. This requires that they use their servers.

I like the MOTD type feature that pops up when you open the app but this should be something that only pops up once everytime the message updates, IMO, so that it isn't popping up everytime you open the program.
