Yusuf Pathan will definitely make an exit, as he would be the first man to admit that he has not anything recently in the many more opportuities provided to him. I fail to understand why there is a debate about the selection of Rahul Dravid. Even in the Champions Trophy he was better than the best and should be there without the least doubt. Abishek and Sudip Tyagi can claim a spot. If Yuvraj Singh is fit, then there is no second thought on his inclusion. Ishant Sharma can be rested and Sudip Tyagi or Munaf Patel can be included. It is time Pragyan Ojha gets his due. Dinesh Kaarth by his consistent performance, should be in the list of members.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: India face Gambhir's fitness dilemma

Yes, Gambhir is a key member in Indian team and one hopes that he is fit enough to take the guard against the Pakistanis on Saturday. Tendulkar and Gambhir opening combination will be a big boost - right-left and Gambhir knows well to rotate the strike to the master. Yuvraj has to improvfe his performance on playing moving balls, which is always his weakness. If he survices the initial period, then he will collar the bowling attack. Let us hope for goodness sake, Raina also runs into form. All in all, Champions trophy should see that the Indian champions steal the show.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Tendulkar eyes number one

Yes, if Sachin's confidence comes into reality, we can definitely win the Champions trophy. We have the team and the potential to do it. Our bowling and fielding needs sharpening. To me it looks like India Australia and South Africa are the favourites to win the cup. The dark horse may be Sri Lanka. Yes, Sachin is in good form and so is another icon Rahul Dravid. We have the bard-bitters Yuvraj and Pathan and there is MSD to take care of the situation. Australia's confidence is sky high after their noteworthy performance against England when they thrashed them 6-0 in the 7 one-dayers. Pakistan is an unpredictable team and may be a force to reckon with on its day. A good fet of cricekt is on the cards. Good luck India !

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Current team among the best: Tendulkar

The master is the best judgement of the game and according to him if the current team is the best he has come across in his 20-year career, definitely it is the ebst team and there can be no doubt about it. Tendulkar has played with different great cricketers and so he is the right man to assess what is what. The outstanding innings he played yesterday was the key factor in our winning the game. Another thing he pointed out is also correct, as in this team we have many match winners and big hitters which was not the case in our previous teams. Of course, as he rightly says that he is not saying this for comparison. This win will give us more confidence and all the best to our team in the Champions Trophy.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Tendulkar back in top 10 ODI rankings

It is good news to hear that the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has mvoed to 7th place in the ODI rankings. After a long lay-off the master is back and is among the runs. He was instrumental in our win yesterday in the finals gainst India. It is heartening to know that Dhoni and Yuvaraj keep their respective positions in ODI ranking. With this win, we move with confieence to the Champions Trophy Good luck India keep it up !

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Winning CT or the 2011 WC is Younis' aim

Dear, try to understand my statement before you write I never said that Younis has no right to make a statement like this. I was only reminding him that there are seven other good teams and he has to compete. My first sentence says that 'younis your aim is good' what does it mean. Why do you bring the T-20 World cup here. I was right in saying that India thrashed in the home series against Australia last year. If we win, you will say that we have beaten a weak team. So, try to understand that I have not discourged Younis and as I said his aim is good. Do not make a controversy without understanding the impct. Hope you would be wiser while making comments in future !

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Jayasuriya and Kandamby power SL to 307

Suresh - I am also a die-hard fan of Rahul Dravid. All his detractors now must be wondering about the criticism they had showered on the 'Wall'. He was the only one batsman who showed yesterday that good technique and application is the key factor in building an innings. His younger collegues should follow his footsteps in terperament, logical approach and should be focussed. Dravid and Tendulkar are the pillars of our batting for Tests and ODIs and time and again they come out with sterling performance. Good luck to the Indian team for winning the final tomorrow !

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Jayasuriya and Kandamby power SL to 307

You are very correct Ranjith. Sri Lanka are an unbelievable team - they will go to the moon one day and will collapse like a punch of cards next day. they re an uncertain team but are Kings on their home soil. India had one off day yesterday that is all. Let us get up for the final game tomorrow with a positive frame of mind - result is there to be seen. Kumble's suggestion fo 40 overs of ODI is also worth giving a try. As Ganguly says, all these can be tried out ater Champions trophy. There are eminent and qualified people to do this job. But one thing is certain - a change is needed in this ODI 50 over format, to make it more lively.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Winning CT or the 2011 WC is Younis' aim

younis your aim is good but there are seven other good teams in the Champions Trophy. Every team will go for the kill and so is your team. India, Sri Lanka and Australians will not let you win the cup easily. Let there be healthy competition and may the best team win. You may not acheive the dream of winning a Test series in India as India is a world-class team and to beat them at home may be next to impossible. What happened to the Australians last year in India - have they not been beaten fair and square in the Test series by India?

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Toss will be crucial says Dhoni

Yes, 300 plus is difficult to chase. Dhoni's statement is right - the toss also played a crucial part. But our bowling was not upto the mark and Jayasuria ws given to width which enabled him to come into form. Yes, to chase more than 250 is quite difficult and Dhoni is very correct in his statement. The batsmen also let him down - Yuvraj and Raina played poor strokes. All in all it is a bad day. Yes, Dinesh Karthik failed to utilise the opportunity and now he has to wait for quite some time to get another chance. Nothing is lost and tomorrow is another day and I am pretty confident that our team will play to their full potential and lift the cup.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Kumble's formula for revival of ODI cricket

I value your comments on the ODI FORMAT. But your criticism of Dravid seems to be not in good taste. Have you forgotten that the selectors have to fall back on the veteran, as the so-called younger talents failed to utilise the chances provided to them. Classic examples Rohit Sharma in T-20 World cupand in the West Indies and Suresh Raina in T-20 world cup, where their lives were made miserable by the fast bowlers of the opposition and their deficiency in facing shortpitched stuff was clearly exposed. So, do not have hositility on Dravid - even in the match we lost today Dravid was the top scorer scoring 47 runs.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Kumble's formula for revival of ODI cricket

Mr. Aaron I respect your opinion You are entitled to yours You want only two formats and not T-20. T-20 is a pure entertainment - like going to a movie and spending three hours and have fun it is also filling the coffers of administrtors and plkzayes also tend to make fast money because of this. We are not grudging. Since T-20 has come to use, I feel that limited T-20 cricket will be the ideal solution. Authorities want overdose. I hope you will agre; that Test cricket is the ultimate. ODI Internationals are also exciting - whether the present 50 overs or the request to change it to 40 overs fotmat. Thanks for your comments.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Kumble's formula for revival of ODI cricket

Yes, Anil Kumble's suggestion to reduce 50 ofers into 40 overs is worth giving a throught. The middle overs in the present ODI format is literally boring. So 40 overs may make the game more exciting and challenging. According to me, this is better than Sachin Tendulkar's suggestion of splitting 50 into 25 overs each. I feel reduction of overs is the only choice left to make the present ODI format exciting and for long-lasting. It is too early to say anything on the matter and hope the authorities will weigh the matter and take a positive decision as one thing is certain, some change is necessary in this format.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Australia may not play a second-string WI

Yes, it is a matter of concern. The second-string West Indies team recently tasted deeat against Bangladesh, a lowly played country in the Tests and ODIs. That itself shows the strength and weakness of the West Indies team. Australia has every reason not to play against a second-string West Indies team. Let the West Indies administrators prepare tours for them atainst Zimbabwe and Bangladesh and not with Australia, India and Sri Lanka. The concern of Australian chief Mr. Sutherland is fully justified and needs careful review and remedial mesures.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: BCCI trying to isolate Pak- Ehsan Mani

Mr.Jay - To reply to your third class comment itself is a digusting one. But I have to put the facts right - you call our bowlers third class - do you know that a bowler alled Kapil Dev was born in India - he bowled his hearts and got wickets and not like your bowlers wasim and waqar by crushing the ball with their fingers and getting reverse swing. bye bye why wasim akram is licking the lust in shahrukh khan's place because he wants greener pastures. why does he not do coaching in Pakistan/ there are no takers. look before you leap. do you know that a man called Sunil Manohar Gavaskar the alltimegreat opening batsman created history. One thing is certain you people will never change - remember the proverb leopard .......

Re: Cricbuzz.com: BCCI trying to isolate Pak- Ehsan Mani

Mr. Babar KhaN - DO YOU KNOW THE PROVERB LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP ! have you looked into your back before accusing others. You will definitely support your countryman. I am not supporting my country just for the sake for it but for the truth and justice. Have you forgotten that Salim Mallik and others were involved in match fixing? Are they Indians? If match fixing is there, it is everywhere and not necessariloy in IPL. Are you jealous that an Indian is successfuly conducting this game. Why Pakistanis want to join IPL if it is corrupt? You will have no answer for all my questions. Of course, I admire your patriotism - right or wrong you are supporting the country. Lastly this gentleman's game will no longer remain gentleman because of the deeds done by your cricketers - mach fixing salim mallik and others, indulging in unfair activities by damaging the ball with fingers and thereby getting reverse swing - your wasim akram and waqar younis were masters. Can you narrate any such incident by the Indian team? Do not throw tantrums on others - otherwise your dirty linen will be washed in public.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: PCB not ruling out day-night Test next year

It would be the death of cricket in nutshett if day and night Test matches are played. White ball in Test cricket is unthinkable. Otherwise in night how one can face red cherry? It is all stupid and foolish - ODIs and T-20 are ideally suited for day and night affair. Sorry gentleman - do not kill the charm of Test matches by advocating to play it as a day and night affair.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: BCCI trying to isolate Pak- Ehsan Mani

It is a typical way of concealing their blame and putting it to India conveniently, as before. One is therefore not surprised by former ICC President Mr.Ehsan Mani's statement. Instead of admitting that his country is unable to stage matches because of Terrorism (it was evident when the Sri Lankan cricketers just escaped death at Pakistan not long ago - surprisingly Pakistan team had no casualties) and is not conducive for cricket, he is squarely putting the blame on India. After 21/11, does he still think that Pakistan is not hostile to India? Mr. Mani before making statement just look at your back. Why no other country visited Pakistan after the injury faced by the Sri Lankan cricketers - can he answer? Squarely putting the blame on India will not help. Everybody is smart - smarter than you !

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Ganguly considers Ranji Trophy for Bengal

Yes, personally all cricket lovers would love to see Ganguly in the action and I am no exception. A batsman can be in form in an innings and in the nexgt innigns he can get otu cheaply. A bowler's length may get disturbed because of the split in overs and his rtythm may not be there. When a bowler bnowls five or six overs in an ODI international either he goes for the kill or he would like to contain the batsmeen in the middle overs. Toss factor may not be a factor as only the side batting second may face the due factor. It is for all the cricket nations to agree and come to an agreement. One can try this system but with the World Cup approaching in 2011, I think it is better not to hurry up things. Tendulkar is a master batsman and if he coems out with new ideas, definitely it is worth giving a thought.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: 50-over cricket here to stay: Yuvraj

Yuvraj is absolutely right in making his statement. All three formats of the game have their usual charm. It is difficult to say which one is best. But one thing is sure Test cricket is the ultimate. For fun you can hve T-20. ODIs are interestng, but the middle ordes are boring If somethign can be done to enliven the proceedings in the middle order, really the game will attain new heights. It is confusing at the moment.
