I'm sorry that you too did not enjoy your experience. If you would like to share your experience with me, I would love to know what we could do to make it better! Please e-mail me at kristin@cityartscenter.org. If your only bad experience was with check-in lines, we certainly apologize and plan on changing that for next year. Of course we can't change the weather, so that is somewhat of a gamble but I think it could have been much worse!

We worked extremely hard this year and would love to have you back next year. I would also love to hear your feedback on how we can improve the race :)

We did mark the holes actually. Just to note, the runners only crossed twice. We like holding the run at the Fair Grounds (which is where our building is located) and unfortuantely, you can't escape the train tracks. We are considering changing the course next year a bit.

I'm sorry you thought our race was a mess. We did have professional input but some last minute changes proved to be chaotic. We are working on that for next year and promise it will be better! Sorry about that!

Hi Terri,

Chris wrote us at City Arts Center telling us about his experience. First of all, we are an extremely small non-profit organization trying to do the best that we can. The Development Director and I worked EXTREMELY hard to put on the best run that we could.

To address your questions, I would like to start with lighting. We actually rented 12 different light towers to light the course in all the dark places. Course marshals were at each curve wearing reflective vests and had flashlights making sure each runner turned the appropriate way.

We did have more than one line for registration and packet pick-up. We had an entire separate area for the people that registered the night of the event. The unfortuante thing about the check-in line was that most people showed up within the hour before the race began. We will most certainly work on that for next year.

We had received a suggestion from the gentleman who ran our time chips to personalize every bib and give them away the night of the race and that was the reason that we didn't include them in the packets. We simply wanted to follow the professional. He is the gentleman who runs the Tulsa Marathon and the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon.
