Just like Adam Lambert's "Mad World" owed a lot to an artist whose name I can't remember because I am in an airport and jetlagged, her cover of Can't Help Falling in Love owes a bunch to Ingrid Michaelson.

Which is not to take away from the obvious skill and soul and musicality this young lady has, just... I wish.

Re: Daily Dose of Cute

Frank and I were having a very judgemental night yesterday.

Re: Monday Blogaround

A great independent press (full disclosure: the art director is a friend of mine) has a kickstarter up to produce two collections of diverse fairy tales, one for kids and one for grown-ups: http://www.kickstarter.com/... They do a kids fantasy ezine now that comes with teaching guides and amazing art, and you can get back issues or a subscription as one of the rewards for the Kickstarter.

I blogged about it here: knitmeapony.tumblr.com/post...

Re: Friday Blogaround

There's some internal BSA documents that I haven't seen out on the web yet. It is the single most important theological aspect of American evangelicalism. And it is the paramount factor in evangelical identity for evangelicals themselves.

It’s also a very recent development. Thirty years ago, this was not the case. Fifty years ago, it was unimaginable…

The speed and totality of evangelicals’ sea-change on abortion is remarkable. But what’s really astonishing is that such a huge theological, political and cultural change occurred within evangelical Protestantism and no one talks about it. No one acknowledges that this huge change was, in fact, a huge change.”

Re: Elementary

I'm honestly not thrilled with the cases so far. I love love love the characterization and surprising choices they've made (Watson gets to set boundaries! Holmes respecting fellow addicts!
