From, what I have learned, they want to involve people from Pakistan in their initiatives. I like their Business Incubator initiative. In a Conference, I met a Malaysian Guy, who asked me, if I knew the President of Pakistan Business Incubator Association. I said, that I have never heard of the Association. It has been almost a year, I am still trying to find the Guy / Association. My Organization offered InfoDev matching money, if they would invest in Pakistan in Incubators. They said, that they had people / partners in Pakistan, who would be interested in the offer. I still HAVEN'T heard from the Guy in Pakistan, while the Australian Focal Point of InfoDev keeps emailing me. InfoDev also offered 4 People, an all expenses paid trip to Hanoi to participate in a Conference on Incubation. Two people were Secretary Level (they didn't go), the third was a partner (didn't go, as he was tired of traveling). Only 1 Guy went. All the four people had confirmed their participation, but -------. At least the people could have sent some junior people in their place.

MNC CSR, just check the web sites.

Re: CSR Performance 2008 - Planning, Measuring and Demonstrating performance in the CSR function

I like Conferences, you get to meet nice people, who help you out also. But mostly, the people who go there are senior people, who are not involved in day to day operations. these conferences would benefit young people in the frontlines more, but these young people never get to go there.

I am just not very comfortable with CSR People, they talk the talk, but dont do the walk. Plus, most of the money is spent on mega events, with little money being spent on actual activities and then after a few months, the whole initiative just goes to sleep, awaiting a prince (read CEO) to kiss it back to life (when there is a need for some positive publicity).

Re: CSR Performance 2008 - Planning, Measuring and Demonstrating performance in the CSR function

Osama,

If they give free ticket, accommodation and food etc, then you would have tens of attendees from Pakistan.

Now, I just feel that, the MNCs might send someone. But this will be in case he / she wants to visit relatives and uses this opportunity to justify the Company paying for his trip.
