We should all stop responding to welcometomoviefone's comments. He is obviously on Pierson's payroll and is to much of a coward to use a real name. Plus pretty much everything he writes is laughably wrong. Which everyone seems to get at this point. I have to assume that he if he used his real name it would be a problem for him.

I would suggest people read the budget document that Pierson cites. I think you'll be surprised when you see the line items. None of the items are things that are in any way out of line. And Pierson doesn't seem to understand that "Brooklyn delegation" means just that. Everyone representing Brooklyn thought these larger items were good for Brooklyn. I'm sure Pierson is counting on no one doing that (reading the line items).

Don't you agree that when someone accuses you of something you have not done, that you should defend yourself? Isn't that what Levin did? I know you will disagree, so let's just assume I know that.

Yes, Steve is very supportive of the cinema. But all the elected are (Liu, de Blasio, Millman, Markowitz, Velasquez, James, etc.). I support Steve because of what he has done in representing this part of Brooklyn. And I like having a musician in the City Council. It's pretty easy to find out how much I donated to Steve's campaign (I won't tell you how to do that, you already know how). I don't think you'll be impressed. Pretty much every penny I have goes to keeping the cinema open.

I do believe in democracy. I just think, as I've already written, that the best way to go is with honesty. Even I'm getting bored with this exchange though. Tell me who you are, and I'll respond again.

I don't like dishonesty. I especially don't like it when it's a Democrat doing it. I'm not thrilled with people who hide their identities either.

Claude is correct. It is absolutely dishonest to say Levin tried to have him thrown off the ballot. The headline should read "Pierson backs down after admitting he made the whole thing up?" What happened to running an honest campaign? If Pierson disagrees with Levin or would do things differently, those are real campaign issues. But if this is how he's going to run his campaign, then that's very sad.

That's pretty funny. He makes up a story about Levin wanting to throw him off the ballot, then makes a big deal of the incumbent "backing down" when Levin did neither. And some people buy it. These are the kinds of things republicans usually do. Hey Pierson, do you have any proof that Levin was trying to knock you out? Anything?

That's pretty ridiculous. If Casey doesn't respond it looks like the campaign did try to knock the other guy off. If he does clarify he is accused of hiding something. The facts are the facts. No one is being knocked out.

One thing this post has done is give Pierson more of a platform than he would have gotten with the truth (there's no there, there). As for Chris Owens, he's a friend of mine and I supported him when he ran for Congress. But I am really disappointed in these kinds of attacks. Chris, if you see this, please get back being the person I know and respect. You're better than this.

As for Steve Levin, I had my doubts when he was elected. But he won me over pretty quickly. When you look at his record over the past 4 years, he's proven himself to be excellent and very responsive to our issues. I can't think of one thing he's done or spoken out about that I disagree with.

It's not true. Steve Levin is not trying to knock him off the ballot. I guess Chris is using the Republican playbook: tell a lie and people will believe it. An honest campaign might be a better choice. Below is a quote from Levin: "Contrary to my opponent's assertions, I have not sued to take his name off the ballot nor do I intend to do so."

1Password does a lot more than just storing passwords. You have folders, notes and a lot more. This will just make them grow the app so it offers even more.

As a QuickBooks online user I am amazed at the things they left out of this app. For example, your balance. And if you have more than one register, you can't see them, just the whole picture. I wrote to them asking why these things were left out. They wrote back that they didn't think most users needed to see those things.

Thanks for writing about this. It is a huge problem and a threat to our environment and our drinking water. IND is sponsoring a free screening of a documentary about this called "Split Estate". The screening is Thursday, December 3rd at 7:30 pm at St. Francis College (Remsen between Court & Clinton). I hope people will come and see just how bad this problem really is. It's one thing to write about it, but when you actually see it, it's even more shocking.

the big problem here is that there is NO actual health care bill. there are a bunch of would be bills. so we, as democrats, continue to make the same stupid mistakes over and over again. when someone asks you about something in the bill (or bills), you have two choices.

1: truthfully tell them there is no one bill yet, but the hope is...
2: tell them "no that's not in the bill", assuming you can the explain which bill and that it's only one of many.

I'm sure there will be a healthcare bill. I'm also convinced it will be pathetic and mostly useless to most Americans.

I hope I'm wrong.

Let me back David up a little. I have been to most of the debates. I have spoken to Doug about his attacks. David calls them lies. I would call them either lies or ignorance of what people and organizations do in Brooklyn. So either he's making things up, or he simply has no idea what goes on in his own backyard. Neither option is appealing. Doug is great at attacking, but I have yet to hear one concrete idea from him. He wants to replace Vito Lopez (so do I). But how would he do this? Who would he like to see take his place? We have no idea, because he has no idea. As for community involvement - I have seen him at one (yes one) community board meeting in the past 4 years! And that was as a candidate a few months ago. He started coming to IND meetings when he was a candidate. Before that, no one had heard of him, seen him, or had any idea what he had done, if anything, in the community. Besides being involved in PS 8, he has yet to tell us anything about any other involvement in his community. Where was he when we were fighting against the Atlantic Yards Project? AWOL! Where was he when we where fighting to keep apartments out of Brooklyn Bridge Park? AWOL! And I could go on and on.

His minions can write whatever they want. The facts speak for themselves.

I agree - Doug has turned out to be complete waste of space politically. What is shocking is not only how much of an attack dog he is, but that he has no idea how to fix anything. He says he's going to be unemployed in a month. After seeing how he runs for office, who's going to hire this guy? Certainly not the people who make up the 33rd City Council District.
