(Scripting News)

NET STOP <servicename> & NET START <servicename> can cycle the Apache service from a cmdline or script. Do your file archiving in between. see http://bit.ly/bEzE57 for more info. Also look at all the Windows Sysinternals tools http://bit.ly/DT44 for more hardcore windows admin tools you may want. You can also NET PAUSE / NET CONTINUE a service but it may still lock files, need to test for it. Also in scripts you can add a /Y to any net cmd to bypass confirm prompts (poorly documented).

Re: http://qthrul.com/post/478351792

Is this suppose to be an Ah Ha video? Did a great explanation of why building Sydney Australia's opera house was a unique endeavor.

It answers a recent slashdot question too since they use seawater to cool the place and have never had a corroded pipe in the heat exchanger system in over 30 years. A small donor brick of more reactive Zinc corrodes instead and is replaced annually.Think it saves them over 80% the energy cost of cooling it the regular way with compressors.

He also showed what happens if a white tile falls off the sail looking roof parts and hits one of the massive glass windows.Lots of destructive testing fun.

I also saw a James May BBC show where he flew in a U2 spy plane at 60,000 feet.

Two years ago Clarkson was on some show that gets famous Brits to trace back their heritage. Was interesting to see Jeremy try to locate his great great (whatever) granddad's business and home. I think he owned a textile mill in Victorian era. Also you get to see what Jeremy's house looks like (but I'd rather of seen his garage full of fine cars myself).

Still think the Top Gear North Pole special is the best of their trips. Those Icelanders really know how to trick out a 4wd to go anyway.

Re: Surfing With The Alien | retrolife:
Elizabeth Montgomery

Yeah Liz was a real babe in her early pre-Bewitched years. There's an
early b/w Twilight Zone she does where she runs around a war damaged
empty city in a military jumpsuit. Still pretty hot. She's from one
nation in the war and this lone soldier guy is from the other side.
Ends up being an Adam & Eve tale.

She had two grown kids about our age. Died of cancer back in the 80s
which is why we didn't see her do much after Bewitched. Time off to
raise them, then the cancer diagnosis precluded her comeback.

In a side note there's an early short segment in a Night Gallery
episode, circa 1971 where an equally pretty young girl opens a casket
& stakes a vampire. It amazed me how young the girl was in it. It was
the very first role of Lindsay Wagoner, the original Bionic Woman. She
was maybe 21 at the time. Now she's in her late 60s doing commercials
for SleepNumber adjustable beds. I always figured Liz would have aged
as gracefully as Lindsay if cancer hadn't clamed her.

Lindsay Wagoner once told a story of going on a 1st date with a guy
who lived in a house way up in the mountains of some Rockies ski area.
Tahoe perhaps? They went up to his place that night and got snowed in
FOR 6 MONTHS. ok, maybe she was exagerating but it was at least a
month. No plows or road access for ages. Musta been some rich guy's
fully stocked ski lodge house. Now thats a long 1st date. The guy
ended up being her 1st husband. Lasted quite a few years before she
divorced him. Always thought that a strange and funny "how I met your
father" tale.
