Dear Mrs.Cheney,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I feel privileged to have known Mr.Cheney, for I belive he exemplified everything a man should be, hard working, honest, patriotic and family oriented.May you find strength in knowing his was a life well lived and the memories of his infectious smile and twinkling eyes.I am so sorry I wont be able to make it to the service to convey my condolences in person, but
my thoughts will be with you and your family.

You mean to tell us since 2008 all this was going on and the selectman did not communicate any of it to Mr.Harrington??? Yeah, lets blame the those cops who at least tried to do something without putting their livelihood in jeopardy.

Congratulations Amesbury Indians, what a season opener game!! I'm glad I made the trip to Byfield....it was a classic river rival game between two very good football teams :)

About 9 years ago I reported bullying at the Salisbury Elementary and I was told my kid "just have to deal with it". It continued into Jr.High were these girls would call all the time, come late at night and yell and scream awfull things and threaths. In High School three of these girls jumped another student at the front of the entrance. When the school nurse tried to interfere she got hit too. To make a long story short, the girl leading all the bullying ended up graduating and my kid dropping out
after developing severe anxiety. It got soo bad in jr.year she used to bolt for fresh air when she had on attack. When I informed the school about the situation and asked to bear with us, (she was on meds but dr. said it could take 2 weeks before we notice any major difference), I was told if she bolts out of class one more time I could pick her up at the Newbury police station! Happy to report she got her GED on her own and is on the deans list in college. Also I can't remember the last time I filled her Rx, so I'm thinking bullying, not feeling safe and not getting help from the school had a lot to do with those anxiety attacks...

For nine years I froze my butt off with you by the football field/on the stands. I have screamed and yelled and danced at basketball and baseball games with you,so how come you NEVER had BEER when I was around??? LOL

If you know the girl you wouldn't be asking.... she is quite a regular in the police logs, if I remember correctly she was arrested a couple of weeks ago for "domestic violence"!

As I'm reading this report I'm wondering what realy happened?? It was very obvious the D line got a little more "giving" after the Amesbury DT was taken out of the game, who I belive the infamous penalty was charged to. I'm having a hard time visualizing that particular player behaving like that, than again I sat too far away to say for certain. Nice sack #54, definetly charged up the Amesbury faithful!

Congratulations to the Indians on their first "W". Lets not poison the moral of the players by trash talking their headcoach. Yes, I would have preferred a little variation of the plays on offence, but than again it was a raw, rainy night.....let's just be happy for the boys and the coaches and support them like we should.

Not really, a senior ladden well coached, experienced team played a very young inexperienced team who was without the services of a Boston Globe Dandy Dozen RB/DB. Just imagene the Vikings playing without Brendan O'Neill!

I don't know who came up with the all those names for Amesbury, but there are only 3 returning staters from last year, Jesse Burrell, Zack Calderwood and James Pelkey, the rest of them played JV most of the season.

With insults like yours ("she" ) I am sure Jesse will be only too happy to play his heart out and let his body be battered game after game just so the likes of you could enjoy another Superbowl! Last season he had carried on his" back" a lot of "seniors" who mostly stod on the sidelines and in the end got all the glory as part of the "senior class"! Here and there you would see the name Pelkey and Calderwood in ink too, but again, they were the "juniors" not worth much ink as far is the papers concerned. Those two guys have been opening gaping holes for years and doing a fantastic job on defence too without any fanfare. So relax, we still have talent too numerous to mention from the now "senior" class and more and more talented juniors moving up the ranks! In closing,
the first two games don't matter much in the larger scheme of things............. Go Amesbury Fighting Indians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A few years back I was visiting a family member who moved to South Carolina. I have never heard of dog fights until that visit but I soon learned it is very popular in parts of the South. While I am appalled by that practice, I do agree, Michael Vick became the national whipping boy for animal activists because of their frustration over that issue. Let the man rebuild his life, he served his time and now it's time for him to go back to work and support his family!

I decided to google this knee issue, turns out most coaches agree with ours, they dont want their players kneel on the cold ground which could cause cramping and other issues. I liked this California coaches reply the best: "Our whole philosophy is that we're guiding young men into competition as high school football players. We're not 8-year-old soccer players who need to take a knee to be controlled. We stand up and pay respect. We don't talk trash. Taking a knee may be seen as a sign of respect at the lower levels, but as you get older, standing back and staying calm is our sign of respect."
