I love this post! I do blogging because I love it and try not to think about followers or how many clicks. I do that for my day job and I'd rather keep it that way. :)

And also kudos on the blogging about "blog post ideas" -- it's so trite and over used. Yes, XX ways to blah blah is fine. But, if it's not something different or new, so what? :)

Aw, thanks! I used to always put "loose weight" on my list too - I've struggled with body image for a long time. In graduate school, I lost 55 lbs by changing my lifestyle. Just start focusing on being healthy and not looking at it as denial. That helped me, in conjunction with other elements.

Thoughtful post. I've definitely felt that pressure or "need" to shop because something will make me feel beautiful or it's "blog worthy" -- and "blog worthy" sounds like such a b.s. thing for me to say. I think it's easy to fall into the allure of a beautiful image or harder to resist the temptation.

At the same time, I think after getting some perspective and reflection on the subject after blogging for a few years, it's easier to resist the urge. And yes, I also don't want to spend gobs of money on passing fantasies. If I don't remember it a day later, then I don't really want it.
