The logitech C920 hangs on your monitor very nicely, that puts it up so you don't get nostril cam.

On a Pi4 you have a lot more CPU than you need for HA. I went with the 8GB model because I can do more with it for not a lot more money. I had a 240GB SSD hanging around so that's what the Pi boots from and uses for storage. Installed the full Ubuntu on it, then Docker, so HA is running as a container. I also have Plex server for a music only (it's not great for transcoding video), but I'm also playing with Emby as well, some day I'll decide.
I have the big dashboard all set now, with the Wyze cam as an RTSP feed, roombas, and bulbs. Now to think about things like the automations and more challenging integrations.
HACS - Community Store, is a good resource for extra cards and integrations.

Maybe for a booklet, but Word isn't the right tool for full books, I've spent much of my career in IT supporting tech writers, the frustrations are many with Word. The best way for someone to never write a second book is to do their first book with Word.

I have been under non-compete agreements a few times in my IT career. I'm not someone with extra special skills, but companies often blanket the workforce with them. They will seldom hold up if challenged in court, but are almost never challenged because individuals don't have the resources to fight the company in court. They are also seldom called out to impact the worker. They do have a small effect on minimizing the movement of workers as people don't take the chance.

Given how often we see critical security patches for Acrobat reader and Flash, and still not all security flaws are fixed, I'll pass. Working in a large corporation, I have found that it's nearly impossible to keep them up to date, so this will just add to the headaches.

By all accounts I've heard, and experienced at the moral Mondays protests the individual police officers were respectful of our rights while doing their jobs. There are reports of some police working there taking pictures of individuals etc, that was not what the majority were doing. The handful I dealt with were simply observing and standing ready at a distance to allow us to exercise our rights.

I have worked on IT projects for organizations for over 25 years now, this does not surprise me. The technical aspects are massive, connecting to (by some accounts) 20 other systems, Experian and a lot of insurance companies, that will not go smoothly no matter what. I've seen some of the error screens in reporting, IBM websphere, notoriously challenging to connect to other systems....

On a different note, those who are surprised and say things like "nobody told the president that this wasn't going to work?" haven't worked in large companies recently. (that is the only explanation I can come up with) My bet is that there were plenty of people saying how X,Y, and Z didn't work, and wouldn't work any time soon, but first, then second, then third level managers will not pass that up the food chain without watering it down, each stop it's further watered down until those original statements are unrecognizable.

My dad never never got into computers, he found sitting on the screened in porch watching the world go by much more fun. Now that I'm the dad, and grandad, I have the digital equivalent in Facebook and twitter. I can't be with with the kids as much as I'd like, I'd send this prize to them so we could have more of those moments together.

There is one thing in the excerpt that is a concept I'd agree with, of course not in the way that Rep Ryan et al would like it done. Means Testing - I would favor means testing, but for all cash benefits, maybe not the same levels they say, and definitely not on any damn vouchers.

You are on the mark about signing over your assets, then the insurance companies will get even fatter, and the money managers will have even more gigantic funds to manage and take their "vig" from.

What will the GOP do to hold down costs? Nothing, they want to continue the transfer of wealth to the top earners.
