I highly doubt it! Not when so many taxpayers have had years to observe the tatics of our non-exemplary, non-loyal opposition. They specialize in flinging muck because they have no real program to offer Canadians. The Liberals have been in power before and Canadians know them well. They have had their ad-scams and Schawinigate etc. etc. and no one is in the mood to play quessing games as to what devious scam they will develop if elected again.
The Honourable Lester B. Pearson intituted the Canada Pension Plan, the best program yet and then, not that many years ago, Liberals confiscated the balance of the EI Fund surplus to cover their debts. Seniors are still living in poverty due to major rental increases and very limited affordable housing suites to provide alternative options for them. There is a dire need for hundreds more of dedicated affordable housing units all over BC, specifically, and other provinces. The money would not be wasted in years to come because, as seniors exit that economy, there will be millions more young families who could utilize the spaces.
If Prime Minister Harper didn't have to keep fending off needless accusations from the opposition trying their best to look intelligent, he'd have more time to fine tune previous initiatives.

Perhaps Mr. Menzies has accomplished all that he, personally, had set out to do. Simple as that. Perhaps he is also tired of all the defamatory accusations the opposition hurls at P.M. Harper every single day. Perhaps he has received a more lucrative offer from elsewhere. Perhaps he wants to go on a long vacation with his family. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.
Let's all wish him the best. If he is offered a position to become a senator..and accepts it...perhaps we will now have an honest senator for a change. I am really disappointed with ex-senators Wallen and Duffy in particular. PM Harper had faith in their integrity by appointing them in such a position of trust and they cheated the taxpayers and sullied the reputation of the Senate. Perhaps Revenue Canada should check every one of their back tax returns to see if they were doing so in previous tax years, as well.

I'm sorry. Right now, the world is crying because a little 12 year old fellow, bent and bruised after carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, paid the ultimate price to never again experience hateful bullying. If you don't mind, please talk with his persecutors as someday, they will grow up and realize the role they played in his passing and they're going to need a lot of help from you.

Young kids wouldn't even be thinking of things like that if their parents weren't making such an issue of it. Where are the stats giving the numbers of such incidents...real numbers instead of conjectures or fabrications or outright lies? How many drones have attacked citizens in the US or Canada? The parents are inciting extreme fear in the minds of their kids. How shameful!

Really cool, having to train a 5 year old that her friend is really a cold hearted bully.....or....her parents have told the bully not to give any candy to that little girl because her parents are the wrong colour or race. Kids don't think of how to bully others; they watch other members of their family, especially their parents and how they treat others.

NO, they count each incident individually...because each incident is disgusting, criminal and could warp a child's mind for the rest of her life. He stole the innocence of each of those children, time and time again. He also deprived them of the learning they were supposed to be acquiring. If this had happened to your little girl, would you be interested in the money or in your daughter's/son's mental health?

How could a young child become aware of the financial settlement that arose from their vulgar abuse? That amount of money means nothing to a child...only the posters drooling over it.

Definitely agree with you. Actually, maybe Obama should cancel Obamacare. The intent was to make healthcare affordable to all; perhaps he should just let voters pay through the nose to the medical industry as they have been doing.

Yes, I agree. These guys were supposedly qualified to belong to this university and to play on their football team. If you dropped the 'color issue', all you would see is four hulking football players who felt it necessary to sexually assault an 'unconscious' young girl. They also were so helpless that they had to involve a respected teammate in cleaning up their 'mess'. It's even laughable that the one player felt he was technically innocent as he couldn't get it up to actually perform his intended rape.
I actually empathize with Boyd. Teams are built on togetherness and the 'one for all, all for one' mantra. This begins in early childhood even in peewee sports groups. It was ingrained in him to help his teammates. They also thought nothing of jeopardizing his career because of their criminal behaviour. Their total IQ levels probably don't exceed 100.
Am sure this type of behaviour occurs in any major sports-oriented university. And it won't change. Universities have to recruit based on brains not only brawn.

For the record, Diana Nyad doesn't owe you any explanation at all about this entire event and her accomplishment. She did it for herself. If she ever needs a theme song to bolster her morale after all this extreme negativity, she can play Phil Collin's 'Against All Odds' over and over again.
Because she wasn't in this for the big bucks, she's entitled to brag about the feat as much as she likes. She had failed to complete the swim three-four other times but she has now succeeded in doing so. She can move forward and set a new personal target...if she so desires.
You yourself have made sure you have accomplished your goal...to act as if you're every bit as dumb as your chosen name. You also sound as if you're in the same age range as Diana...your chauvanism gives you away.
Congratulations Diana! You did it! In spite of the odds against you!

No he didn't . Putin is trying to save face because of the pending Olympics in Russia. He's spent billions, literally, to ensure they were going to be popular in order to bring tourism to Russia.

IMHO, Putin had every intention of firing on the US the minute they fired a missile at Assad and his forces. Russia has moved many destroyers right up close to those of the US.

Coming up with this solution makes Putin a hero, saves his Olympics from being a colossal failure and makes Obama lose face in front of his citizens.

At least, Obama has learned one lesson from all this....that the majority of his citizens have mocked him in the press and every internet forum they could find. He can scratch 'defender of peace' from his farewell speech to the nation when he turns over the office to someone who is sanctioned by the teaparty.

No, people won't say that. Hopefully, they'd recommend that he get some sort of mental health treatment while in jail. Obviously, you who are yelling the loudest are not true Christians. As Jesus would say...'Let he who is without sin cast the first stone'. It's also obvious that many people are much more concerned about a change in the gun regulations than about saving lives in the future.

To equate Obama with a murderer for his wanting to attack the murderous Assad in defense of Syrian citizens is also deliberately treasonous. If he were to do nothing, you may open your door one day to find jihadists bringing their cause to your doorstep without any fear of retaliation or punishment.

What about the sad case of the US soldier who 'snapped' and killed app. 20+ Afghan citizens ? He was on his 4th combat mission...4th. That should not have been allowed. The military is complicit in that case, IMHO. They had no regard for his mental health.

Yes, even fine, honest, upstanding citizens can snap under pressure. I'm not saying you have to forgive either murderer, but, a person can at least try to understand that the mind can definitely snap.

Having guns in the house only makes it that much easier to kill someone when a person is angry or is drunk and angry. Many many people fill the US prisons and they wouldn't have been there if guns had been prohibited. Instead of screaming at Obama, research how many cases of deaths have been due to free access to guns at home.

Republicans expect to win the next election and are doing their best to make sure Obama doesn't overdraw their line of credit with China. Bush declared war in Irag and he was Republican so don't expect the next US leader to forego military involvement somewhere in the world.

Republicans have turned into the party of NO and have blocked just about any bill that would benefit the average American. They want the people so digusted with Obama that they will vote Republican once again. They have spent billions on this past election and they couldn't sway the voters.

When Russia fires on the US ships in the waters off Syria, you can bet we will all be enveloped in this war. IMHO, that is Russia's intent. Canada and everyone will be dragged into it. Prices will soar and the US and China and Russia will make billions on armament sales.

IMHO, Obama should back away from the table and bide his time. There will come another day and he can then make his decision when he will be least threatened by others.

The U.N. is speaking for all its signatories as a whole. They are looking at the collective view of the situation and how it affects each individual UN member. OBAMA has the burden of deciding how to defend HIS country and use his military to fight for what's right for the US as well as for people currently in the midst of war.

The US has always defended the underdog. So has Britain and France. Britain was the first ally to stand beside the US but the British parliament vetoed his intent to fight militarily. Most European countries are just coming out of a recession and that is probably why many cannot afford to offer military assistance.

The Americans always make sense. You cannot expect a country that is expecting to go to war at any moment to divulge highly sensitive details that led to their decision to do so. That is ludicrous! This is NOT a movie!

Innocent civilians are being killed by the tens of thousands already by Assad and by the rebels. Last count was 100,000+ What's the magic number that would incur a credible defence for the general population?

It is getting too late for the US to mount a timely strike to make a significant difference for Syrians. The dithering has allowed Assad to mount his weapons within populous areas and innocent people will be the true victims rather than Assad. At this point in time, a different strategy is warranted.

Perhaps a convoy of civilian peacemakers should go talk to Assad and ask him to please cease and desist his destructive behaviour. That is about all the US citizens are willing to tolerate at this point. Obama needs different advisors on war strategy.
