I do support Schalke, but I don't believe that affected my writing at all. I don't think that Dortmund are forced into replacing their players with has-beens if they sell them at a ridiculous price. If someone pays a total of 50-60m for Sahin and Subotic, Dortmund should be able to replace them with players who are just as good and then buy another very good player on top of that. Those two are excellent players that I would love to have starting every game for Schalke, but an offer of something like 30m is just too good to turn down.

I love the Dane Train, but that's a laughable suggestion, man. He'd get eaten for lunch in the Premier League and he'd be benched immediately with all of his giveaways and poor decisions in the final third.

Interestingly enough, Bornstein played defensive midfield last week, despite David Toledo being fit. He will have a tough time displacing Tigres' wingers and left back Jose Torres Nilo in the starting lineup.

Slightly concerning: Our two goal scorers both played like crap
Slightly awesome: We looked good without Donovan

Edu and Gooch...never again, please. New 4-3-2-1 setup was good except for the fact that Jozy can't finish for crap. Is anyone opposed to that same midfield/attack with Donovan in for Jozy? False nine, 4-6-0 kind of thing? That wasn't exactly a system that requires a target striker.

Three of the top four teams do not have a player making seven figures. So, it appears that this is exactly what they are doing right now.

I wish we had enough time to go team by team, but Richard and I would be there forever and no one wants to listen to a 3 hour show. I don't think Athletic Bilbao will be a top four competitor, but I can see top six. Top half is almost guaranteed. Llorente, Martinez, and Amorebieta are their only three players that I think are truly top class guys.

Rumor has it they're looking to bring in Danny Welbeck on loan. Also, I think Riveros and El-Muhammadi were very good signings. Sunderland had an awesome meltdown last year, but I think they have a top-half squad.

I'm not a hater, but I thought he did not look fully recovered from injury against the Czech Republic. I hope he shows better mobility, jumping ability, and ability to stop and start quickly against Turkey and Australia. I'm not a "hater," I love Gooch. I hope he's 100% fit and able to start for the U.S. But, if he is anything but 100% fit, I'd rather have Demerit and Goodson.

I think that, the more our players play at a high level, the better they will get as players and the more they will be able to benefit the national team. That's it.

In my experience, all of the 3 or 4 dozen Germans I've met between 16 and 25 years old that were even slightly well-educated spoke English and adjusted to American culture without any issue. I know this is just one person's anecdotal evidence, but I doubt language/culture is an issue.
