The fetus at the time it is aborted is still part of the mother's body and as such the mother, assuming she is either American, or from most european countries, has the right to terminate that pregnancy. If the government could take away a woman's right to do to her body what she wishes, who's to say that precedent wouldn't be used in terminating other rights such as freedom of religion, for instance?

Re: CatholicVote.com

The mainstream media magnified this maatter and made it sound worse than it really was. (I'm literally stuttering as I type this) Made this matter worse than it really was is the most incomprehensible statement I've heard yet from someone who is supposed to be a devout catholic because if one kid is hurt the price is too high. In most cases the priests were not even removed from service, only moved to another parish, oh the parish was routinely not warned. If you want some insight into the true scope of the priest sex scandal read "Losing My Religion" by William Lobdall. Before you start saying that he is against any kind of religion because of the name of the book do yourself a favor and read it, he is a reporter who was once a devout christian, and the book is not "christian bashing" at all.

Re: CatholicVote.com

In America we have the bill of rights, among them are rights of the accused, and among those rights is the right to a fair trial. Are you saying that a person accused of murder, maybe even caught on tape performing that murder, does not deserve a fair trial (albeit a short one if they were caught on tape)? Everyone has rights linda. In my opinion it is god who is in the wrong here because if he decided to allow the devil free reign in the world then he has no right to bitch when people go against him because he is the one who screwed up by giving satan free reign. Since "he is in control of everything."

Re: CatholicVote.com

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

please watch this, then tell me if you are still against gay marriage then we can debate this further. Do you listen to yourself when you say this stuff? Does it really make sense to you? No one is trying to bring down the catholic church and faith and intellect seldom go together, you might even say they are a contradiction in terms.

Re: CatholicVote.com

What does the line of popes have to with anything they are people just like you and me and regardless of what people may think they are not infallible.

Re: CatholicVote.com

I've found that the more devout people are the more they see thou shalt no kill as being negotiable.
