I don't work from home right now but I'm sharing with at least one friend who just started WFH.

Re: Effective Networking Tips for Extroverts — Networking For Nice People

As a 33% extrovert, I'm guilty of doing (or *not* doing depending on how you read it) all of the above. About 60 of us from all over the country were right across the creek from you at Come As You Are Camping. We camped, laughed, and sang around the campfire for three glorious days. I completely agree with you about our ability to build community, in the good times and the bad. As long as we keep an open heart and mind.

Re: The Risky Business of Using WordPress Plugins

Jon, thanks for the reminders on this issue. Campaign variables are so easy to set up but many marketers seem to be scared of them or don't want to take the time to think ahead. Inevitably, down the road the boss or client asks "how did 'Campaign A' perform across all channels?" and you're stuck pulling it all together manually in Excel. Been there. Don't want to visit there again.

Re: neti pot hysteria

Yeah, I think I got my neti pot from Vanderbilt ASAP when I paid them a visit a few years ago. The same common sense we use for email phishing also applies to Twitter now.

Thanks for your great post.

Re: Meetup Comes Through

Andres and Meetup rocks. I've used Meetup as an organizer for close to two years, and have been very, very happy with them. Granted I've never had to shut down a meetup, and I can't comment on why they made the decision to disallow mass member deletes. I've found their system to be pretty solid, and they don't make upgrades or updates by knee jerk or to keep up with the Facebooks or Nings. My Nashville Hiking Meetup wouldn't exist without them and there's just about nothing that would push me to switch to another platform. Thanks for letting me comment!

Re: Nashville Geek Breakfast - June

Dave, really looking forward to the breaky since I've had to miss the last couple!

Re: Twitter Up Twitter Down t-shirt is available

Nice work, Double D!

Re: Wolves in sheep’s clothing, a warning for job seekers

Excellent work, Dave. At a low point in my job search a few years ago I fell prey to a company such as this and wasted my time with a first interview. It was creepy. The "recruiter" didn't have anything personal in her office, such as family photos or even mail on the desk, leading me to believe that a traveling cast of characters could roll in and out of the same office for snake oil presentations.
